Glad to see reapers made worse, though this does essentially return them to the role of early scout with minimal damage potential.

Tank change is not such a great idea, it will make all-in play stronger while not addressing the real problem, which is that siege mode simply doesn't hit Protoss units hard enough.

Hellbats might be Blizzard's answer to that problem. That kind of damage output will annihilate zealots and help maintain space between your army and the Protoss, and though it doesn't help vs immortals it could help vs archons. Reduced splash is kinda wtf.

Returning splash to seeker missile is good, but I don't expect the energy requirement to stay at 75 long.

Not too thrilled about the caduceus nerf, would've rather seen Blizzard play with the numbers than straight remove the heal bonus.

I like where you are coming from on Fungle but they will not nerf Fungle to where it doesn't stop you complete. If they made it like a slow and did little damage over time that would be fine. Blizzard will not do this though

Okay, at first I thought blizzard knows what they are doing, especially after few good patches (7 and 8 I think?), but this... I just don't know where to start....
The new hellbat is terrible idea, its basically terran roach now, and with medivacs it will be pretty strong imo. Loved the way they were before.
Reaper is now a weaker marine with better mobility? Bad change imo.
No need to research siege mod? Hooray for even more timing pushes
And the medivac... loved the upgrade the way it was before, I mean come on, its as high in tech tree as BCs.... now its just another redundant upgrade in terran book.
The only things I like about this patch are the new seeker missiles and envision / time warp ability switch.

Why do you keep doing this to me Blizzard? Is David Kim really so clueless? Teching to mech was never the problem. Mech is simply not worth teching to because Protoss can dismantle a mech army so easily.


You are completely wrong. Opening mech was absolute nightmare versus competent Toss. Now that you can get shit out faster, you will have more economy, better composition, faster upgrades, ghosts, etc.. There are so many things that just snowball from those changes..


You are vastly overstating the effects of 100/100 resources being freed up. Opening mech is not a nightmare, it's actually fairly powerful in the early mid game before Protoss have the time and money to get all the tools out to deal with it. That's why the 1/1/1 was so effective for so long. The longer the game goes on the less effective it is, a late game Protoss army just shits all over mech and this will not change that.

Not saying you're wrong, but people said the same about the queen/OL buffs, and look how much of a difference that made for zergs and their lategame.

the seige tank buff will mean that at least you no longer have to frantically throw scvs at those early roach attacks while you wait for seige to finish. makes going mech a lot easier

Previously I have tried to defend the Bliz development team versus the community, I have said that they're the experts, we should stop whining and learn to accept their changes (after all, very few of us are game designers), but honestly this patch has me scratching my head.

I do not understand. They were going in such a good direction then the last 2 patches just threw all that away.

That tank buff is gonna make for some nasty all-ins in PvT but still not fix mech. All it will do is make 1/1/1s viable again.

I imagine I will be getting hit with lots of weird cheeses on the beta tonight.

Dear terrans, please dont go marine/hellbat/medivac after this with mass upgrades. The rines and bats are mineral-only units that can actually move out and attack (unlike the queen), and counter the other races' mineral-only units. Don't do this composition, or i'll start harming kittens.

i feel like zerg is being ignored. past 2 patches have addressed none of the major issues zerg is dealing with - diversity/utility vs skytoss/our mid game stays the same as WoL....silly.

the toss MSC/Oracle swap was a really good change though.

raven change was also a +

the tank change - just dumb and is going to revolutionize terran vs terran even moreso. meh.

You weren't using them right then. Tempests do 80 damage and 2 shot broodlords. You should learn how to incorporate tempests in your army and use them correctly instead of complaining that mass mass tempest doesn't beat bl/corr/infestor.

Most zergs dont' even go that composition anymore because if the toss is smart and gets a few tempests with templar/colossi it will crush that composition. Also air toss is the strongest late game army and CRUSHES late game pvz.

If you can get the composition of voidray/tempest/templar you win.
When I think of something else, something will go here

I had such high hopes after the last big patch, but i don't understand what they are thinking with this patch? Reapers are terrible again, nobody will get fusion core for a bit more efficient medivacs and taking 2 upgrades out of the game just reduces decision making and doesn't help one bit like the hsm upgrade removal did...
