They want it to be purely for casual players who like big awesome looking fun units without really knowing anything. So.... okay I guess. Kind of silly but whatever. Actually, I think it might still be a viable sidegrade for the MsC. If you're at the stage of the game where you no longer need the MsC's detection and Proton Overcharge, you might opt for more health and DPS instead, along with the Cloaking Field. And when your Mothership is threatened, you can now pull out with the new Recall. The only truly useless aspect to it is the new Vortex.

To nerf it to be near-useless, but not remove it entirely. It removes the Mothership from high level play so that other units can take its former role, but still keeps it in the game as a purely for-fun unit. As far as Vortex goes, you just target one non-massive unit within range, and then "poof," that one unit is sucked into an ant-sized graphic of the old Vortex and gone forever.

Given how slow it is and the supply cost of the mothership, I'd honestly rather not bother. The cloaking field will be essentially irrelevant by that point and I'd rather have another colossus or a carrier or something instead of the mothership, given that I can still recall with the MSC.

So you can actually kill TWO Roaches! In all seriousness, its best application would be against rook-level units, like NP Infestors. It basically sucks.

Zerg has been significantly stronger in both WoL and HotS. With that said mutalisks now move at a terrifying 4 speed, Ultralisks got a significant damage increase, and two key units got a 60 hp buff. Did you even consider any of this and how it juxtaposes with the current already well-pampered state of Zerg?

Hydras got a huge buff, infestors are actually still good, just not so good you want them as your entire army (projectile Fungal Growth, slightly less range means fungal is not as easy to use but still quite potent, it's fast still), and IT's aren't ridiculously powerful anymore, so you'll want a few infestors for support in practically any army but probably not more than that. Muta buff and Ultra buff is good too. Zerg doesn't have an invincible end game army anymore, but that's a good thing, and their end game armies are still quite strong, just not strong to the point where you can disregard everything else and still win (just watch Leenock vs. Hero from last code S season if you don't believe me, 6 base protoss losing to a 3 base super harassed zerg T_T).

What is the one of the most common abusable tactics against Terran in the game that is relatively easy to execute and ridiculously hard (if not near impossible without significantly outplaying) to defend? I'll remind you. 1. Make Infestor/BL, fight terran (game is usually outright won here, but if not), remax on Ultras or lings. Free win because Terran now has 25 1/0 vikings. 2. Make lots of Colossi and stalkers, fight Terran, remax on Zealots. Free win because Terran now has 25 1/0 vikings. This change seems very reasonable when you consider that it's aimed at helping Terran react to P and Z's ability to have significantly faster and more abrupt tech switches along with already faster production mechanics.

Did you even consider any of this and how it juxtaposes with the current already well-pampered state of Zerg? Well as zerg is heavily economy dependent the buff to reapers and oracles are scary. Hell even MMM is now viable versus zerg. The balance has only in recent months been shifting towards zerg players.

I almost think it's too much. well, that's the whole point ![]() But the IT no upgrade change makes no sense at all... Units that don't profit from upgrades? What's next? Mechanical units that transform into bio? Mines that don't explode upon usage?
