Because infestor is a midgame/T2 caster not a lategame/T3 caster like Viper. So Viper+hydra are supposed to fill up its AA+support roles in lategame. Not that you're not supposed to use infestors in the lategame, but there are other units now so its role can be phased out a bit.

Mutalisks should never really engage with marines anyway unless they are 100% sure they can take them out. Kind of like TvP bio. Hence their speed buff so you can harrass more.

I agree. Although there are situations where you won't be able to use Mutas to clean drops anymore.

But what I mean is.... Bio was already an army that is much more efficient than anything else, but dies to splash damage. Now it is even more efficient again non splash damage armies... But they also want us to use Infestors less? That's... Not gonna happen. If anything infestors just got even more important. And Mutas more cheesy and situational.

I was confused but really happy once I found this out in game. I'm very surprised and impressed with how well Blizzard was able to reassign roles to Protoss air units. They are all different in many ways. It's not as simple as Unit A for ground, Unit B for light air, Unit C for armored air for example, which is awesome.

so seeker missile has no splash damage any more? like someone noted, its basically a worse version of yamato now. id much prefer it to have splash than to deal huge target dmg

It is not inherently worse. The Raven can fly away while HSM is charging, unlike the BC, and I don't think it requires research (still need to verify).

Incredibly massive changes, although I'm disappointed that of all Stargate units, carriers are still the only one who still didn't get any change...

I think the aim is to continue using infestors as normal in the mid game, but they arent as strong in the late, hence the infested terran nerf and range nerf (although I disagree with the non-upgradable Infested Terran nerf). Also, dont forget that you will be able to hold off bio pushes with swarm hosts support as well (aka free units).

So the role of the infestor has been kind of split into the Swarm host and the actual infestor itself. It still translates into the late game, but Zerg will now need extra support from vipers etc.

It's basically like this: Infestor in Wing of Liberty = Viper, Swarm Host and Infestor in Heart of the Swarm, as far as roles and utility are concerned.

I think that change will come. They've talked of buffing carriers on multiple occasions and said they saw nony's video.

300 single target damage. Iiiiinteresting.

This will make ravens rather popular in the lategame now me thinks.
Though, i'd rather have kept the old style missile, old damage, aoe, slow and dodgable, just with 10 range. The new one seems to be making battlecruisers completely and entirely pointless.
If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

Just because fungal is a "missile" doesn't mean a PDD will shoot it down.

Especially with the tempest having +damage to massive air, and zerg having viper don't see a reason to ever get BC's.

But that's not a terrible thing. It's not like BC's are that interesting anyways.
