Like, is harassment actually viable vs computer now? Currently only very easy, easy, and medium are playable, which me screwing around and building thors, medivacs and ravens can easily beat. One thing that I did notice which was weird (better not be intentional), is that I couldn't select enemy buildings. I wanted to see what the "all out rush" was like, and I couldn't figure out if the zerg was building a baneling nest or a roach warren when I scanned. Anyone else having the same issues? That's been in HotS all along I think. You can fix it somewhere in the options menu, they must have made it default.

That's actually pretty good as an idea in terms of even testing timings when your practice partners aren't there. Kind of nice, the AI as it is in WoL currently is worse than worthless in terms of doing stuff like that. Kind of assuming that they'll play vaguely like us at least in approach. They mentioned in some update that they had 10 levels planned. Seeing as they named medium "level 3", I would hope that level 10 would be able to do an effective basic rush build. Now I only wish you could select "cheese" and practice worker micro against a 6 pool by a level 10 computer.

That's the kind of thing that makes 100% sense in terms of figuring out other ways to fix the 'Bnet 2.0 Experience'
There's a lot of little subtle things that Blizz are doing here as well that will all add up. Even the option to hide your builds in the option menu, stuff like that. In terms of addressing those kind of issue, HoTS is an amazing step up.

You can now open Custom Games in Offline mode. Whatever this means it right now isn't working anyway but it's there.

EDIT: You're right, I could change the ability to select enemy buildings in the options tab. Thats a weird thing to have off by default.
P.S. That raven missile shoots out fast! Doesn't feel at all like a 3 second delay. I actually like it, but I hope they change yamato to something else since it seems redundant.

WTF? this is the biggest patch ever. A lot of these changes seem random as fuck

I did some testing in the unit tester, no micro involved, just straight DPS vs DPS
1 thor with the new single target anti-air attack now beats 1 broodlord, before 1 broodlord always won with the thor's WoL attack. 1 thor also beats 1 tempest with new attack, granted the thor is in range.
even supply of oracles beat even supply of marines, even with stim and combat shield, medivacs don't get a chance to heal because of how quickly oracles kill them, even with the new improved medivac upgrade.
We might end up seeing BL's+mutas in TvZ since the thor's new single target anti-air attack is quite awful against mutas, and the transformation time may be significant enough that it makes mutas a decent transition after BL's to catch a large group of thors off guard.
iffy on reaper change, it's fine for TvZ/P but TvT will become a nightmare, it's already very linear with reaper healing and vision up cliffs.
vortex does as described, it literally kills one non-massive unit instantly, interesting.
seeker missile targets one unit and paints it red. The target can run backwards while the raven charges the missile, and if the target goes out of range, the missile dies. Seeker missile 1 shots immortals. Surprisingly, I don't know if I missed this, but seeker no longer does splash damage.

Interesting feedback. I like the idea of the medivac boost because you kind of get rewarded for being able to pay attention to drops instead of shift-clicking them in WoL, you know, choosing when to speed boost could be a good way to separate a good player from great etc. Does it currently feel fair though, in terms of if you were say, playing Zerg against it?
the higher cost on medivacs is felt really hard in the mid game and you cant mass them as fast and i think its more skill based now rather then just shift clicking, really nice change.
TvT is gonna be hell early game but it will be fun

Wow, I love the fact that Blizz is finally using the beta to shake things up and experiment to break the rut the game is currently in. Rare, yet deserved mad props to them!

Is it confirmed that PDD now eats fungal?

BL/Muta would be instant death, you would only switch half your thors to single target and leave the rest in regular damage. As of right now I think the thor change is a very smart fix along with Armory upgrades, gona try lots of thor raven heh

I wouldn't be surprised if the Void Ray is gotten rid of, and the Tempest restored to how it was before this patch. The Void Ray was an anti-capital ship unit, which is the role the Tempest has not only taken, but done better. If they made the Void Ray faster or just having a passive bonus damage to something, I could see it fitting in.
Anyways, I think I've noticed a pattern. In BW, I was best at Terran, and 2nd best at Toss. In WoL I've been best at Toss, and 2nd best at Zerg. If they don't change much by HotS' release, I may play Zerg the most, and Terran the 2nd most. Huh.

After a long time, I can finally say I open some patch notes from Blizzard and squee of joy. I have to admit that now I kinda want a beta key to test this stuff up.
Terran changes sound sooo awesome =)

You're correct on the change being on the caduceus reactor. Medivacs are still 100/100 and 42 sec to build.

just tested seeker missile. You can target one unit and it paints the unit red. If that unit runs away while the missile charges for 3 seconds, the missile will fizz out. it will one shot 1 immortal, so hardened shields aren't effected, however the seeker missile now doesn't do any splash damage. But even if you run away after the missile is released, the missile won't miss.
After the raven uses the seeker, the raven can also be microed back, the raven doesn't need to baby sit the missile. Hope that clears up some.

I'm livestreaming right now in the unit tester if anyone wants to come and see:

Edit: Sorry, having bandwidth issues, nuked it. Also, its really hard to stay in a game now. Constant drops.
