Tempest change is very obvious: it is dominating in PVP. There are three prevalent leaders in PVP: colossi, archons, tempests. Colossi and archons are massive, so tempests are now at the top of food chain.


Omg, I didn't think of that. Sucks, as I think the tempest was one of the big reasons for p vs p becoming a more enjoyable mu to play. Mass tempests never really seemed like that great of an idea unless it's on a small map like Aikon (or w/e it's called). Mass expand > tempest play. But, if you made some tempest, then it would cue the other player to simply limit how many colossi they would make, so you don't end up with "war of the worlds" every game.

I'm curious to see just how big of a buff the dt's got, especially in p vs z. The opening already seemed pretty strong. No complaints here on that front. Almost sounds too good to be true. Hopefully not too good to last. As for promoting medivac drops... I personally thought there were too many drops as is. Maybe not too many drops per se, but way too many uncontested drops in t vs z. As a viewer, I would do anything to see the scourge come back. Even if they could target the colosus, I can't even imagine seeing even more uncontested drops in t vs z without giving up watching.


Blizz also said they didn't want the tempest fully countering late game Zerg (it was the "answer" for both broods AND ultras with it's +massive damage) and now, it's still a good answer to broodlords, and you won't be completely screwed after the switch to ultras (lol can't shoot up) but it doesn't counter them as hard.

collosus is considered as an air unit, sooooo.. tempest's will use their air attack on collosus

They aren't considered air.... they're ground. There's a reason thors use their ground attack vs them.

There was a while when WoL was new that thors would use air attacks against collossi if they were at the edge of thor range, and only switch to ground attacks when the target got close enough (because the ground attack has a much smaller range). I'm not sure if that's still the case - I haven't actually played the game seriously in almost a year.

Wait, did people misread the Medivac buff/upgrade? The increase healing/energy cost reduction only comes after the Caduceus Reactor upgrade is done. The increase healing does not come with the non upgraded medivac. That means it's more of a late game situation where Z would get their T3 composition with mineral/gas bank for 300 food push. And with Ultra upgrade, it would chew through Bio unit very very easily without increase in healing late game.

HUUUUGE buffs for terrans. I play protoss but I think most of the chanes are quite promising. I can see bio being too strong in late game though. But hey, it's the beta, they try stuff, and I like what they're trying

I just post it again because the amount of new posts here is incredeble and all people just seem to love the patch because it brings alot of new features (ok there are some people that talk about the imbalance)

BUT THE IMBALANCE IS SO OBVIOUS (ok its just a beta but ... even here it scares me)

medivac changes are much too drastic that cant be the right way. The speed is so high even faster then mutaliscs with new speed ^^. And the healing will be so powerfull its a 60 % healting buff.

Also terran mech is rly rly strong in hots vs P. Just tempest totally owns it but this will not be the case anymore with the new patch. And mech will now be even stronger espc when thor rly has no more energy

I think most zerg changes are ok.
But muta speed... this is not rly necessary makes them just more annyoning but not better in fighting.

Im myself protoss, i think dt shrine is now too cheap but makes me anyway happy :-) dt pwnage but in caste of balance its prob also shit

Tempest beeing tier 3 together with carrier and no more + dmg vs massive ground will make it never been played again so tempest is no more new unit.

Blizzard said themselv since toss has now tempest they dont need vortex anymore vs Broodlords. But tempest will not be build against broodlords i guess but time will tell (carriers are better in this case and they also dont rly work).

(tempest dps is 9 vs massive 18) carrier has 25 dps against everything carrier range is 8 first later 14 so its not a big difference between those 2 but im not sure. In every caste the medivac speed and heal is shit this is 4 sure.

Holy crap those Terran changes, I wanted to see these type of changes for a long long time. But I feel some of they are maybe going a bit far? Such as the medivac healing, will that just totally negate storms and fungal now? Especially with the fungal nerf. It seems a bit of "Here use nothing but Hellbat, Thors and Medivacs and 1a to Victory"

Go ahead and repost on every page just to put your opinion on everyone. Yes, the changes are so much that mostly in the current "meta" they will break the game but you just can't see how the meta will unfold with those changes.

Take the infestor, there was done NOTHING to the unit. The queen got buffed and suddenly it got imbalanced. Why? Because the meta shifted. Same procedure here. Let's see how stuff will go and THEN complain about balance in an early beta stage (yea yea yea you see the bull here?).

Overall interesting changes, want to see some koreans come up with crazy stuff plssssssss.

I had one more thing to add, with these changes I don't think I am going to be seeing as much ZvZ, if any Zerg players would know i'm sure, I atleast play so many mirror matchups in SC2 it is ridiculous. Probably more so in ZvZ, but I think now there is going to be so many terran players.
