People like to judge so early... Was watching the Ret's stream, and he is learning the new units, he didn't know how to use the Swarm Host at all. He don't know that he can stop the Locusts spawning, so he went for burrowing Swarm Hosts 1 by 1 and they spawn Locusts at different times, and he never had enough of them to do something.

The only thing that makes Swarm Hosts somehow balanced is that Locusts can't attack air anymore, they are absurdly overpowered vs. ground units, one Swarm Host spawn 2 Locusts that each has 65 hp, 16 damage, 3 range and 0.8 attack speed. That is higher dps than Hydralisk by a large margin.

The only thing is that people need to learn to use them.

But mixing in some vikings and marines seem to do the trick quite well, from what I've seen.

It was more of a reaction to watching delphi (or someone as delphi) play Protoss, draw ForGG, and try to all in him twice.

SuperNova did it this morning too, just made hellions 1 warhound and pulled all scv's

Entertain me with new units and playstyles damn you so I can enjoy the beta vicariously through you =)

They seem a bit too good but I think the real problem is protoss and zerg (more zerg) are still figuring out what kind of unit composition they should be using now. They'll probably wait a bit before the first update balance wise

By far the most powerful ability added to toss.

-Widow Mines are interesting. They do literally nothing on mineral lines, I got 3x mines dropped on a line, didn't react just to see what would happen, and lost 6 out of 20 probes. Plus reacting is pretty easy. However, they did completely shut down DT harass when coupled with turrets. I think this may be the most interesting unit that will be great to watch in the distant future when people go crazy with them.

-UI Changes. They actually are all pretty nice, none of them seem to lower the skill ceiling. The only bad one is an option on by default that makes enemy units unselectable.

-Side Note: Was pretty funny to be placed into a league with Stephano, Idra, & Vibe. A gold league. Sure, it's because there is population yet in the ladder, etc, but still funny to be placed in the most brutal gold league ever.


Good to hear. I feel the tempest and swarmhost are going to be the last units work into their builds. Both are so dependant on support and how to support them that we will have a hard time figuring how to make them work. Also glad to hear that Entomb is not the be all end all.

On a side note, I saw Thorzain's stream yesterday and a ton of warhounds got mauled by some staggered tanks. They killed the first one or two, but got dusted by the remaining tanks. Warhound do not fire as fast as I thought they would.

Dimaga has been destroying with the Swarm Host. His army composition revolves around Swarm Host, Infestors, and Corruptors. It's very potent. He's also probably #1 on the ladder atm.


Swarm Host + infestor sounds like it would be beastly, but could be dealt with if you would stop it from setting up outside your base. Or maybe dropping their base in response are the key, since it is going to be so slow.

Biggest problem is that Warhound, even coming from factory isn't a mech unit. Throwing away EVERYTHING that made meching fun and interesting.

Yea I Think it will be interesting to see the new TvZ and how it will develop using battle helions as "firebats", will bring some interesting timings on the early/mid game

The Pros are going to cheese first and we should be thankful they are. People forget, there are no builds, no timings, no safe ways to play in the beta. We are starting from the ground up when it comes to builds and knowing if they can stop cheese is the core to any build.

Yeah fosure. Also kinda hope they bring back a timer. 2 (blizzard) seconds should do it. It feels A LOT like the spider mine currently. This would make it a little more unique. Increase the damage and add a very very small timer back. Enough so that only pro-gamers can split it out with perfect control.

Also I miss the scout. It was great having a rofl / bm unit in the game :D

Ok, that's strange, they said they would give beta keys to people who plays regularly, i've been playing this game almost every single day since like the end of january and i palyed a tone of it before, on and off though. Im platinum if it's relevant.

What I don't understand is why Blizzard removed the HotS map in WoL on the EU server. I was interested in playing while waiting for a beta key.
