This might be wrong if my theory on how the time is calculated is wrong, though. Anyway, I found replaying the campaign on normal difficulty under 8 hours is easily doable, and I'm not one of the better speedrunners on TL, so you should be fine.

Unless it's a mission you're going back to do that you skipped. Maybe not relevant to this achievement, but if you're struggling to beat a mission on brutal, skip it completely and come back with tech reactors and upgraded banshees and vikings; because we all know those beat every mission except All-In.

You need to do the artifact line so mission requirements are: To unlock The Dig, you need 8 completed missions (Including Smash & Grab) To unlock The Mobeius Factor, you need 11 completed missions (Including The Dig) To unlock Supernova, you need 14 completed missions (Including The Mobeius Factor) Thus, the shortest route you can take is: Liberation -> Outlaws -> Zero Hour -> Smash & Grab + Any 4 -> The Dig + Any 2 -> The Mobeius Factor + Any 2 -> Supernova -> Maw of the Void -> Char

I would skip Tosh all together. None of the three units you get for his mission line are any good and the first two missions take quite a while to do as well. Something like this seems like it'd be fast. Giving some aproximate times based on how fast I did these on my hard play through and on brutal if my brutal time was better which was mostly the case since I knew what I was doing on brutal. Rounded some of the times down a little cause I know they get dramatically easier on normal: Liberation Day (5m) -> The Outlaws (5m) -> Zero Hour (20m) -> Smash & Grab (10m) -> 40m total aproximately -> Evacuation (20m) -> Outbreak (25m) -> Train Robbery (20m) -> Safe Haven (10m) -> The Dig (takes ages, on hard and brutal, dunno if it's much shorter on normal because I guess there are a lot less things to shoot with your laser beam, call it 35m but maybe a lot shorter). -> 115m total -> Whispers of Doom (20m) -> A Sinister Turn (20m maybe a lot less on normal) -> Echoes of the Future (5m) -> The Mobius Factor (10m) -> 170m total Cutthroat (20m) -> Supernova (20m) -> Maw of the Void (30m) -> 240m total. That's 4 hours to get to Char.

Sounds good, except I would trade out Supernova for media blitz because thors are very useful for rushing the drop pod level on char, and you can beat it in 20 minutes easy if you keep the odin alive. Edit: forgot Supernova was a artifact mission. Nevermind.

After I finished the whole 29/29 missions on brutal, I started a new campaign to get the armory achievements (saved up my money, saved, bought all of a kind, loaded, bought all of the next kind...and so on). I did all normal/hard achievements in that second rush too (exept for the timerun and this "Lost Viking"-crap). What pissed me already then was, that my brutal times weren't listed anymore, since i was playing a "new campaign". Afterwards i decided to try to finish the game below 8h. I wanted to do that out of the archive, so i replayed almost every mission (exept for the timed ones ofc) and after i finally made a total time of 477:36 in all 29 missions --> no achievement. Have to admit, that i was kinda pissed. So i can confirm, that it won't work, if you try the achievement out of archieves and just lower the missiontime. What a shame 8/ So now i have to do another run, after which one can't even see my hard-times anymore on archieves. I guess i gonna do that speedrun and load one of the old savegames from my brutalrush afterwards. Regards Brannigan

That's 4 hours to get to Char. Following this path I got through easy peezy. I'm a silver player in multiplayer so it doesn't take much skill ![]() With the dig make sure you are aggressive and take out their bases. Then just go afk until the laser cuts through. I put in about 20-30 extra minutes to get to char. I did the anti-air mission as well. Probably ended up around 6-7 hours total. Critical upgrades: marines, medic healing efficiency, banshees, viking range, siege tanks, bunkers, scv repair, CC reactor, orbital command, and PF I did not have to re-do any missions. I suspect that doing anything in the archives screws up the achivement so be wary. Mission times are the only ones that count. I frequently went AFK on victory screens and in the hyperion. Also, I did this over the course of 3 days so real time doesn't matter at all.
