What really bewilders me is that Blizzard doesn't offer any way of automatically seeing how much time you have built up already. I mean, many achievements which require a certain number of games to be played on certain difficulty levels will tell you how many you have done already, a very easy calculation to do automatically, and not too difficult to do on your own. But when it comes to having to add up all your [best] times, a very tedious thing to do by hand or to enter into a spreadsheet, Blizzard just says, "Good luck." Or, so it feels.
I have completed the 26 missions on Normal difficulty, in 459 minutes < 480 minutes = 8 hours of total time, and yet it doesn't give me the achievement. A similar sad story to that shared by numerous others.
I think Blizzard really needs to do something to fix up the clarity of this achievement. If the only way to figure out how to earn, for many people, is to poke around for hours, replaying the campaign, and probably learning or creating a few new curse words in the process, then Blizzard should take a serious look at the problem, if they have not/are not already.

I want to confirm that it is now (as of 1.1.2, but probably as early as 1.1.0) possible to get this achievement via the mission archives. I loaded my "All In Victory" autosave from a brutal playthrough, and replayed some missions on normal until my best times (added up over all 29 missions) was less than 8 hours, after which the achievement immediately popped up.
I'm not sure why some people are still reporting that it does not work (perhaps there's some other hole in the achievement trigger), but in the situation described above, it worked for me.

I've done all the missions all 29 of them but my time is around 10hours since i did all on Brutal, but what i'm wondering is for some reason some of the times didn't record and it says Time:NONE on 3 missions. So wondering if i have to get a time for them or maybe i got lucky and instead of 29 i only have to do 29?

This is not true. I just played my times under 8 hours checked many times that i calculated right and then i loaded that Autosave for All in and nothing happened.
If anyone got a save for the new patch would be greatly appreciated. My times are clearly under the 8 hours mark with the bonus missions and most of times done on Brutal so pretty unfair i can't get the achievement.

Games where I lost my internet connection did not count towards certain achievements. This included save files.

No problem, was quite fun however I did misjudge how much research i would be able to get.
(also great train robbery was a massive mistake to do I would advice all to skip that mission line if they want to get this achievement)

where do you put the save file? i cant find it

So... I'm a tool, and played the first little bit in waaayyyyy too much detail. I think I've already put in 2 hours where I should have only put in half an hour, know what I mean...
Sooo... am I able to "redo" these missions and get the times that I should have, or just restart the campaign fresh, and go from there?
(I'm a multiplayer kinda guy, but want the achievements for single)
So is it recommended just to tear through Normal to get this achievement, then backtrack and get the others (Hard/Brutal) achievements (Since they are not timed.... are they?)
Edit: I just thought of something. Is it that you have to beat the campaigh WITHIN 8 hours? Like, start at 1, finish by 9?

Greetings. I got 1 question before i start in uther darkness. I must complete all the crystal missions too or i also can jump directly to char, fastest i can? thanks.

Did anyone try this? And if it would work, could it be a mix of times from normal/hard difficulty.
We had a huge discussion about this on the Blizz forums back near launch.
This DOES NOT WORK.
You must start the game, and then within eight hours of playtime without retries, complete the game.
That means you spend eight hours (not counting reloads) to complete the game.
I couldn't tell you anything more specific than that, but suffice to say that you at launch (and I see no reason to believe that this was patched to be different, since no mention of any kind was made about it), you were not allowed to simply drop your completion times below 8 hours.

So is the 8 hours including cutscenes/conversations? Or just play-time? I don't wanna have to re-play the entire thing to watch the TV newscasts, and talk to people if it doesn't affect anything...

Got a copy of this at the END of the mission?

It appears to be just mission playtime, but everyone I know who has completed it did in it one six or seven hour (realtime) sitting.

How difficult is it to get this achievement with all 29 missions? What is the margin you completed this by?

If someone could put up a save file for the "All In" speed run for the new patch 1.1.3 (Nov 9 2010) would be greatly appreciated.

Come on man, the achievement is for doing it, not for loading a save file!

Trust me, I tried doing the achievement. I got a total time of 5hrs and the achievement didn't pop up. I missed some research points on normal so I went to the archive and played it on casual to get it before heading to char. I'm not sure if that counts towards my time. I'm not really feeling like doing another run just for 10 points. If you could help me out, would be greatly appreciated.
