Hope they give ten hag some time as i like the bloke for who he is and what he brings to football, he has come across well in the documentary stuff they have put out of him so far this season. If they fire Ten Hag already they're more incompetent than I thought. Like I said before he always struggles at the start at a new club. The first few games of the season were usually pretty average as well. He needs some time to find out where the players properly fit. This is no secret. If they didn't know it they really didn't do their due diligence. Will they give him time? Will the fans?
There seems to be this perception that a few good signings and a new coach and United will return to challenging the big boys, but the rot seems to be much deeper and requires a real rebuild.
They really need space to do that properly, even if it’s a season of ‘oh we’re a top 8 side creating foundations’ and all that comes with that.
I’m just not sure a lot of fans would tolerate that, nor that the ownership have the fortitude to stick to a plan and not bend.
Solskjaer had some success in getting some statement results, but in a crude sense what he was doing was somewhat easy, and had a certain ceiling. You’ll get to the top 4, you’ll take the odd scalp but you’ll never manage what a City or Liverpool are doing.
The results were acceptable enough though that he was kept on longer than he should have been, and the real reform necessary was kicked down the road (again), and if anything made it harder for his successors.
This isn’t a knock on Ole, he did a pretty good interim job. But having got United into the CL, and seemingly restored a degree of morale, that was the time to get that coach that could push them on with more sophisticated and modern tactical ideas.
Instead they kept him on, the morale boost eventually dissipated and United are right back to where they were when Mourinho departed, if not considerably worse than that in terms of the dressing room’s psyche.

Some interesting UCL qualifier matches today.
Bodo/Glimt - Dinamo Zagreb FC Copenhagen - Trabzonspor Rangers - PSV
All three seem pretty even matchups and there are some interesting teams involved. Would be fun to see Bodo/Glimt tormenting some more teams in Europe this season.

even if manu really wanted fire eth after 2 games, who could they get that you would say oh ya 100% they've got it right. no one's gonna fix manu overnight

Meanwhile, as the musical chairs continue in MU, the likes of Conte, Tuchel, Poch and Ancelotti have been moving around the top clubs.
OGS was, at best, brought in to keep the seat warm while a suitable replacement came along. The right thing to do - albeit cruel - was to ditch him for a proven top manager that became available. But they hung onto him too long and bailed out too late.
The management only has themselves to blame for not getting the right man to steady the ship and hopefully rebuild for the future.
I'm sorry, losing the first two league games to middle-tier teams is just inexcusable for a club as big as MU. There's no time to be patient to mediocrity. Like how Madrid ruthlessly ditched Lopetegui after a short bad run. Or Chelsea ditching Di Matteo after winning the CL.
I'm a big fan of Ajax - their philosophy and personalities. I admire Ten Hag's work in Ajax. But he's really not the hero that MU deserves or even needs right now.

This would be perfect tbh, United would never compete for anything again and that’s one less competitor for us to worry about

Heh...
To be honest, for example the Ronaldo signing is a pretty Musky move. Disregard risks and long term team building and go for the emotionally grandiose comeback story that'll create maximum headlines and hype. That's part of the way Musk runs his stuff, at least on the surface level.

It's even less likely than the Twitter takeover. The man is a genius and idiot at the same time...
