I mean, maybe, but there are probably more likely explanations like a clot dislodging and migrating to the heart. There are a number of clotting conditions that are far more common in athletes due to steroids and other stuff.

Cardiac arrest is caused by an electrical disturbance. cardiac arrest is not a heart attack. They are different things and the terms are often incorrectly used as synonyms. U of Maryland cardiologist agrees with Sutter and says it was prolly commotio cordis. https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/nfl/bs-sp-cardiologist-on-damar-hamlin-20230103-iton622mmjhrxf3rggbtomm4ti-story.html

The was the Packers got eliminated and Seahawks snatched the last seed spot was quite a show! Also, I was disappointing that Denver finally won to deny Seahawks a fantastic pick for an amazing defensive player, but 5th is much better than expected!

Basically, what happens every year is that some team is a pretender that gets smushed eventually. Usually its a team from the Pac 12 or Big 12. Once it was Michigan State that stumbled through a fraudulent year from the Big10. Only the SEC really consistently puts in teams that are non-stinkers, although Clemson and Ohio State have their years (I expect USC will join that group soon). TCU was probably the 10th or so best team this year, but went through the weak Big 12 at 12-1, then fluked into beating Michigan via turnovers. Georgia was also the best team by far this year. They shouldn't have had to play in the playoff at all. The season should have been called after the SEC Title game.

It's the law of small numbers. With only 12 regular season games, most teams only have a few competitive games. With the large amount of teams in college football, there will always be some decent but not great team to fluke itself to a 5-0 or 6-0 record in those games. Those teams frequently end up getting wrecked by actual champsionship contenders. Even in the NFL, you have the Minnesota Vikings this year.
