Like, they are a weird high variance team every year (under Day) with only 1 real game per regular season, and yet can always be a threat in 1-2 games. Frankly, there are a lot of teams that could get to 11-1 under those conditions, and not a lot of them deserve a natty shot.

Their opponents kept shooting themselves in the foot and they pulled off a lot of close last minute victories. They could have easily had 3 or 4 losses this year ND got wrecked in the CFP twice in recent years and I don't remember them being that good either time. So they've had fluke teams more recently than that.

Entirely probable, but at least he seems to have raised his floor compared to guys like Murray who get paid and also can be Mr poopy butt for huge stretches of the season.

3 missed PATs. The stage is set for another Tom Brady improbably comeback and another Dallas playoff disappointment. 4 now. Why not just go for 2 at this point?

On the other hand, it's hard to imagine how they could possibly screw something up and collapse again the next time. But somehow they always come through. 3 missed PATs. Shame. While I'd like Brady to go all the way and cap off this year, he should probably retire. It isn't him, but the team as a whole isn't playing up to snuff.
