Not really, it's a lot of the usual suspects dominating the tier 2 leagues. - Ajax are 7 points clear and the big 3 are all in the top 4 in the Eredivisie. - Red Bull Salzburg top in Austria with Rapid Wien second. - Sporting Lisbon and Porto relatively clear of the pack in Portugal. - Young Boys who have won the last 3 titles in Switzerland 8 points clear with a game in hand. - Club Brugge, reigning champs, 14 clear in Belgium.

Granada was winning 2-0 in the minute 88 and the match finished 3-5 lol. Last goal volley was insane.

Brighton? Wow. So they're the true giant-killers (rather than Everton, Villa, Southampton). EDIT: Wait, they only won against Spurs, not all of the Big Six? A rather misleading line (and careless reading on my part).

Fergie would never have been able to succeed with Clive Woodward. Noone can.

The Norwegian league was won by Bodø-Glimt - a team which has never won the league before. They went 26-3-1 with 103-32 goal difference, setting a new record in points, amont of wins, amount of goals scored, goal difference, and difference to the second placed team. They're also the northernmost team to ever win the league (or to ever win a european league competition), and they did it with a fraction of the budget of teams like Rosenborg or Molde. While I am a Rosenborg fan, I gotta admit I was cheering for them. Combination of a unique generation of local talent and a fantastic manager (who made players who have failed elsewhere become massive successes) was the key. They've lost a couple of their top players (AC Milan bought their best player after they played them in the Europa League) and I don't think they'll ever have the economy to be a long-term Norwegian powerhouse, but they've been very fascinating to watch.

I kinda miss the old CL format. Would be nice to have more diversity of teams and interesting underdog storylines. Maybe not a minimum quota for each country, but at least set a limit of 2-3 teams per country. One reason behind my original question was wondering whether next year's CL will have a motley of irregular teams due to the pandemic.

I'm not joking. This is dead serious. And yes, they could have easily added him. 3 additions were allowed, they used 1. And Haller, the guy for 22m, they just forgot. Just a shit day at the office, I would say.... :D

That very same reasoning you brought up here could be used for a birthday party just as well. And where did you read about a doubleheader in Liverpool? I haven't seen this possibility mentioned so far. It's just about finding a neutral venue.

RB Leipzig host Liverpool in the Champions League on February 16; Germany has banned entry on all arrivals from areas affected by coronavirus mutations until at least February 17; the match could be played at Anfield or a neutral venue How is letting in people who are negative with the virus into the country for at max like 8 hours and then leave, 1 day before rules may be axed anyway not a good idea? Instead, Red Bull could lose their payday when we all know this wouldn't happen in Bayern or Dortmund's cases in which they play at home until 9th and 17th of March...lets see what happens to Gladbach on the 24th of Feb! Also wonder what happens if for some reason they agree to a double header at Anfield, do they have to quarantine on arrival back home for 10 days on top and put their domestic season at risk? Even France is being this picky about it allowing elite sport to continue for the Rugby which is at far greatest risk due to how the sport is played and how many more players and staff are involved.

The large majority of people is not infected. Hell, even a large amount of those could easily prove that. And yet they are barred from travelling and subject to rather strict anti corona rules. And those travel bans have no special cases for professional sports... And now we just ignore those rules for some, because the boys just wanna play footie. And footie is really the most important thing in the world. Then again, somehow your lack of understanding is not surprising me... And as mentioned before, a double header in Anfield is not really discussed atm. Swapping games with Liverpool (easiest solution, but most likely refused by Liverpool), rescheduling it by a few days (both teams will have scheduling issues here) or neutral venue (most likely option: Salzburg) are discussed. PS: The "Red Bull" Club is in Salzburg. RB Leipzig is Rasenballsport Leipzig, not Red Bull.
