Whilst i agree Messi does top stats and does score goals and win trophies, Barca have not performed in champions league since pep left it feels. That is not helping Messi. Also Ronaldo getting a Euro win and carrying Portugal pretty hard last few years has also helped.

![]() Miami's new MLS expansion team unveiled its club name, crest and colors early Wednesday morning, bringing a splash of global and Latin American flair to the league. The team's name, Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami, celebrates Miami as “a truly global location that welcomes and embraces all cultures and communities," and is a nod to “Miami’s international, diverse, inclusive, creative and ambitious spirit,” according to a club statement. “This is such a proud day for myself and for the entire team. It’s an honor to announce the new name and crest to our fans,” said David Beckham, Miami MLS Owner and President of Football Operations. “We are taking another important step in establishing our club and today marks an important moment in the history of Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami.” The club also released its official website, intermiamicf.com, social-media handle: @intermiamicf (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and motto: “Libertas, Unitas, Fortuna.” The motto pays tribute to the concepts of freedom, unity, solidarity, inclusiveness, opportunity and good fortune for all. “Our city and our fans draw their strength from the dreams of a global population that calls Miami home,” said Miami MLS Managing Owner Jorge Mas. “It is only fitting that our name pays tribute to the inclusiveness that makes us who we are.” Fellow Miami MLS Owner and Chairman Marcelo Claure added: “We are extremely excited to offer the team’s identity to Miami and the world. This team will thrive on the principles of solidarity, passion, innovation, tenacity and inclusivity and embodies all of them in every aspect of our daily work – on and off the field.” The new team name and crest is being unveiled via a multi-pronged “digital takeover” campaign across South Florida, telling the story of the new identity across multiple platforms, including souvenir editions of the The Miami Herald and the El Nuevo Herald and the creation of murals featuring the crest by two local artists in the Wynwood and Brickell neighborhoods. Miami was officially granted an expansion team in January and it is presently scheduled to take the field in 2020, playing at a temporary venue until their own privately-funded stadium is completed the following year. Club leaders have proposed a 25,000-seat stadium paired with restaurant and retail space, office buildings, hotels, athletic fields and a public park on a site near Miami International Airport, dubbed “Miami Freedom Park.” Source

But hey, messi fanboys only cry when the selection is AGAINST messi, never the other way ^^ Messi was easily the best player in 2010. If we apply the 'trophy' rule, Sneijder or Xavi should have been the winner. That year's funny because everyone wanted Iniesta (if not Sneijder) but no one remembers that apart his world cup final goal, he wasn't that amazing and he was injured 6 during that season. Xavi was the real boss for Spain and Barca's midfield. Also I don't mind him being out of the list, I'm criticizing the fact that he's not in but inferior players (same criteria) are. A list with 3 of Modric, Griezmann, de Bruyne, Varane, Umtiti, or Rakitic would have been fine too, if you put titles above everything. @Pande, define "not performed" for Barça. No team is supposed to win every year, or every other year. What Madrid has done is exceptional, it happened with a lot of 'luck', it shouldn't be the norm for any team. Barça has been in QF every year for a while, and has not often looked the lesser side. Pep's team was superior for sure, but this Barça could win the CL any year with some more luck/player focus.

What Salad did was great and nuts, but 1 it was his first time getting to that level and two he ended the season tropheyless and behind others in goal scoring stats lol. How he is in the top 3 best players on planet is just because of how popular the premier league is. Ronaldo Messi Modric Salah is how i would rank them. Based on last season I think this season unless Ronaldo goes super sayian and carries Juve to a champs league title then it should be a Messi year as he is consistant.

He had like one golazo against Juve and the world went nuts. But that was really the only MOM performance that I can recall. And credit to the Juve fans for that one tbh, and then in the same tie he scored a penalty in a tie he was completely absent from, that they should have won comfortably on paper and probably deserved to throw with the way they played. He was notably absent in the final aswell. He was more of a Mario Gomez this year tbh, which serves to show how insane his team in general and guys like Modric in particular were in the key games. =

I'd be very happy to see modric win, but I don't think ronaldo winning would be outrageous in any way. I get why messi fans feel this way, because I can already picture trolls (who know damn well that messi is the actual goat) say 'ronaldo > messi, proven by ballon d'or wins' after the end of both their careers. ![]()

None of them in the final (and I agree he was absent in general) or semi final, fair enough, but he was certainly instrumental in them beating both PSG and Juventus. Real actually had an amazingly tough journey this year - group stage with Tottenham and Dortmund (remove ronaldo's goals and they'd get 2 instead of 7 points from those games). I dont know if you have seen them this year, but his absence is not felt one bit.. so far anyway ..

I mean, I want Modric to win. I think in WC seasons, that should count the most, and he shone brighter than either Messi or Ronaldo did. (Ronaldo had one absolutely fantastic game vs Spain, unimpressive aside from that. Messi had one fantastic goal, unimpressive aside from that. ) And if going strictly by 'performance', then hell, Salah ends up being a much stronger candidate to me, even if he didn't win any titles, he was consistently great in almost every game I watched.

But I did watch most of their CL games last season and while he wasn't great in the final three games, he was great against juventus and very good in some of the other games leading up to the semi final. At worst, Ronaldo was a top 5 player last season, but with how goals + champions league are considered the most important, it's no shocker that he's considered to be in the running. I would be ok with Salah too. For me the top 3 that were consistently the best for the longest time were Salah, Messi and Modric, and if we are taking achievements into account then Modric goes ahead of Salah and Messi third. But yeah the CL does matter more for that particular award so no getting around Tapianos exploits for sure.

Ronaldo seems to go crazy December > May and his record in champs league games for goals is crazy. Real so far look good i agree, Bale back to his best which is great but lets see what they are like in champs league without Ronaldo.

They will be facing Wales and Slovakia, I might have to watch that. Also Girona v Barca on 27.01.19 will be played in Miami, possibly still pending Fifa approval. e: Slovakia v Denmark Tuesday, Sep 04 6:45pm GMT (GMT+00:00) Friendly Denmark v Wales Sunday, Sep 09 4:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) Uefa Nations League The interrim coach's first words to his new team players 'What's your name and what position do you play?' :D Their female team was striking last year. Really get the feeling the danish FA leadership must be a group of giant morons, and I'm really not a big fan of star players for national teams negotiating individual commercial contracts and stuff like that.
