This thread shall keep it organized and continue to assert hockey's dominance over the sports section. Regular old hockey chat shall continue on in the other thread.
I, former progamer and American national hero quantichawk, shall use my considerable clout to convince the mods to award the winner an icon of the Stanley Cup like the World Cup winner got. Failing that, I will hold the forums hostage with more shitty posts than anyone can imagine.
Hawk, what is the Stanley Cup
You goddamned, idiot! The Stanley Cup is the bestest trophy in the whole world. It is annually given out to the winner of the NHL playoffs, which features 16 teams playing four rounds of best of seven series. After as many as 28 games of slashing, spearing, elbowing, JAM, and GRIT, the winner gets to hoist this gigantic trophy, which weighs more than 35 lbs (Fun Fact: it's measured in 'Murican since the last time some loser Canadian franchise won, no one here had ball hairs).
The best part about the trophy is that each player and coach gets a day with the cup, and everyone does really, really dumb shit with it! Look how much these people love the trophy!

I admit I made this prediction with no idea how their season series went

to be honest, even though I picked the Isles, I think this is probably the best shot the Caps have had in a while. Johanssen actually kind of resembles a 2C, their D actually looks good, and Holtby is legit (even though he gave up a stinker already)

I am glad to say that the MN Wild are 2-1 over the Blues. I think they should be able to take them in the series. Beyond that, I'm afraid it is a hard sell to see the Wild winning the Stanley Cup. It is a sad story but the Wild is a perennial 'wild card' contender.

Meh I really needed the Caps to win it in 6, and for Vancouver to make the comeback in Game 7. Even then I'd be pretty far out of it I think, Not looking good now, especially if Detroit wins lol.

To update this, that jerk CorsairHero is in first with 79 points. Yours truly, America's Champion, currently sits in dead last with 43, a move that was entirely done on purpose to make it more dramatic when I come back.

I'm the only person who predicted Tampa to win, but after seeing that Detroit series, I'm not quite so confident in their chances against Montreal.

I think Detroit had the success they did because their style of play trends towards domination possession and limiting opportunities. Montreal is content to let hte other team dictate the flow of the game and climb on Carey's back. It leaves little room for error, esp against a fast skilled team like TB

This is basically a two man race between Flabrezu and I_Suck_at_acting. My Team Sucks technically still has a chance I think if Chicago wins and they nail the goals scored (i am not sure what the points are)
