It's actually really logical compared to years passed. This year's QB class actually isn't that good comparatively to two years ago. It's probably at the same level as last year.
Going for a Watkins at 4 is also perceived around here as the best option considering no one in Ohio want's Manziel on the Browns. Plus if someone falls late that they want they can just move up for them or see who's there later in the round. No use reaching like they have year after year.

Plus, nothing is worse than drafting a decent Geno-Smith-y QB because they make your team mediocre, which is no longer advantageous in the new draft if a strong QB is projected to come out in a future draft class.
I'm not 100% sure what your post means. are you saying a decent QB going to a bad team puts you in a difficult spot to take a good QB in the draft? Honestly, I don't see the biggest difference between Geno and Wilson. They're both relatively mobile QBs with NFL arms. Geno's a bit taller, but as far as the two on the field in a vacuum, they're pretty comparable. Geno won a few games with last second drives where he made clutch plays. Problem is, he was throwing to the worst receiving corps in the league. A lot of those guys wouldn't, and in some cases, didn't, make an NFL roster anywhere else. Granted, if we had picked Alshon Jeffery instead of Stephen Fucking Hill two years ago, we'd have at least one decent offensive playmaker...

Remember though that Alshon has Brandon Marshall taking coverage away from him. Pretty sure if the Jets ONLY had Jeffery, he wouldn't produce the same amount of numbers as he did in Chicago.

djax released.
I wonder where he's gonna go...

That is correct. But also having a decent QB will take you out of the basement, which if you are a team like the Jets is not what you want. The Jets need 2 years of being in the top 10 of the draft (which means you get really good 2nd, 3rd, etc round picks as well) to assemble a team that a good QB can take somewhere. Unless there is an Andrew Luck, a Cam Newton, or another QB that is worth 5+ wins a year to your team, what you want to do is draft a Left Tackle, an Elite Pass Rusher, a few Wide Receivers etc.
Now, if you think Johnny M is elite, and would take him top 10 if he was a WR or DefEnd, then take him and roll with it. Otherwise, you take those positions and let them develop while you get ready to actually win meaningful games, instead of beating the Dolphins and Jaguars.

Well, I mean, we've had our bookend LT for years with D'Brickashaw Ferguson, and although we don't have a Demarcus Ware-type elite pass rusher, our defensive line is one of the best in the league and gets contributions from all over the place. our problem is the secondary and playmakers on offense. I don't know how this years draft class is for DBs but the receivers are very deep supposedly...

Those were just examples for a hypothetical team.

Eagles... Why did you just go and release your best wide receiver...

Apparently he threw up some gang signs on tv or something?

His contract was massive, but I don't get why they paid Cooper instead. Makes little sense.
Jackson's deal. Cooper's deal.
Turns out he was making double what they'll be paying Cooper. I actually kind of like the move now.

Eh. That evidence is pretty damning, even if he's not had anything other than that arrest for bud
Combine that with his penchant for being an asshat and there you go.
also, hbd shellshock!

Yes, DJax is overrated and is a burden against the cap.

also, hbd shellshock! Thanks. Is it shameless to wish that the Redskins would pick up Desean Jackson? I mean I guess we have enough problems that we're still going to be ending up picking in the first 5 anyways in 2015 but I feel like having someone besides relying on Garçon to make 14 receptions per game would be nice.
I'm not sure how much he's going to cost but I read that people think a lot of teams are going to be wary of signing someone like him if the gang rumors are remotely true so maybe his price will drop a little

Wait, so Philly and the Jets essentially traded backups? I thought for sure Matt Barkley would back up Foles this year. Maybe Matt isn't developing like they want him to
|
They did - though Vick might start for the Jets.

I'm losing excuses to actively root against my home team to piss off my friends. Vick and Djax gone really cleans out much of the trash the Eagles had piled up in the last few disturbing years.

Correct. Have you seen that guy on the field too? He throws a fit when he feels the refs aren't throwing enough flags, and seems almost eager to start a fight.

Yeh I'll miss the playmaking ability Djax brings but I am 100% on the chip ship and have no doubt this was the right move

Going more in-depth, he's a one-trick pony who relies on deep routes and speed to try and get separation from corners. He's way too small to win any one-on-one's in the air and while his return skills are alright, it's not worth keeping him on the roster for $10 million.
Honestly, the WR class is so deep this year, they could grab a Dri Archer or De'Anthony Thomas in the 4th/5th to replace his role.

So he's the kind of player Al Davis would have given $10 Million a year guaranteed. Sadly for Raiders fans Big Al is dead. Not so sad for their salary cap...
