Agreed. Its a skill I don't have. But who wins gold is determined by people in suits, not clocks or measuring sticks or score boards

I'm not a gymnastics guy and I have always liked target practicing, but I do not agree that firing a weapon ranks higher than perfecting the human body. I like that funny (swedish) commercial guy that claims that you can determine if something is a legit sport or not on if you have to shower after you have performed it. :D

Can we please stop acting as if the hosting nation cheating is something new and extraordinary ?
Last Olympics : Rowing, Diving or Track Cycling. Does that ring a bell ?
Yes she got an inflated score, just like the russian couple in Ice Dance. Yay good for them. It's not like she fell down and still got a medal.

OMG Doping in the most disappointing part of the German olympic team... epic failure Seriously, what did she take? It certainly didn't improve her shooting accuracy, she was more of a danger to any other people then to the targets....

Hmm? What are you talking about?
Just googled. Seems like there is one unnamed athlete that failed the test?

mahrgell mentioned shooting accuracy. Is there an inside leak pointing towards a certain biathlon athlete?

What are you talking about? german female biathlete Evi Sachenbacher Stehle The first time in eternities the womens team completely failed to get any biathlon medal for germany... And now we have a doping case.

and it isn't a leak It is reported by the german press agency (dpa), she is removed from the german womens lineup for the last race, and basically every athlete in the german biathlon team had already a dozen interviews about it (most being shocked, the trainers are still believing in her, the usual blabla)

Congrats to sweden!!!! awesome extra end!

I don't really understand why she should need to dope by the end of her career; until we know more details it might just be the occasional "accidential" pure stupidity doping where you take some kind of medicaments who happen to be on the doping list while you never expected them to be. Or maybe even just indirect effects of stange blood values without directly finding remains of doping substances.

We got the curling bronze! What a game. I think China lost it more than we won though.

Yeah. Those two red light draws and a few other major errors. Good game regardless.
Now Sweden has bigger task on hand, against Finland

Strange case indeed, because if she really was desperate for gold in the individual event she wouldn't have switched sports.

With your definition, boxing should be removed since the score is determined by judges. So does taekwondo I think because though you get awarded points for landing kicks, the referee(?) needs to see the kick landing

Wrestling, Boxing and Taekwondo all have win conditions that can be decided by the two competitors without the judging.
