Regardless, I have used them for a year or so, and so far there is no scratch on them, and they are comfortable. Though since they are mostly white-coloured, they obviously get a little bit dirty. But last time I checked you are not a girl, so whatever. I have seen plenty of lifters at the Euros 2012 with those shoes, so they are definitely a quality product, and not some overprized scam to get 18y'olds money. Besides, Adidas is basically THE brand in weightlifting, like 80-90% of the professional lifters lift in adidas jerseys and shoes. so you can not really go wrong with adidas. I believe the main difference between adistars and power perfect II is that the adistars have a wooden sole. Mine are power perfect II and I can also vouch for them. I've found the sole pretty impressive as well, as most of my shoes (normally fred perrys) the heel wares down quickly and the back of the sole becomes very rounded. These still are as new, though I guess I don't do much walking in them, just around the gym. They're comfortable and completely solid. With regards to belt it's a very personal thing. Someone I sometimes work out with at the gym has an enormous belt that is just a massive straight belt, and it doesn't fit around my waste properly. It's good for him as he's carrying more fat around his waste, but for me it just cuts into my ribs and pelvis and doesn't support my lower back. I prefer the tapered ones which are narrower at the sides and larger on the back, but you've really got to just try it on and do some movements in it.

Off-topic, but that picture makes me feel a lot better about my form. I do low bar squats and thought my knees were tracking too far forwards, but that seems fine looking at the picture. Not sure.

Set PRs on squats for 3x5 @ 315 lbs and a 1RM of 355 lbs. Decided that I have the bench press of an overcooked noodle, so deloaded to 190 lbs to get through the plateau. Anyone have any experience with paused BP being especially helpful for progress? Unrelated to H&F, but played my season 8 placement match and ended up in Master's for the first time ever!

Before even watching it; no, because deadlift mechanics are not about absolute height, but rather relative lengths (femurs vs tibia, arm length vs total height). While watching: Max attempts are never performed the way he says "perfect" deadlifts should be done. He also spends a bunch of time talking about how to lower the deadlift, which is not important. Just put the damn thing down, controlling the negative is a bad idea. Other than that, he's telling you to stick your but out, and pull your shoulders back, which are good tips for any lifter regardless of height, and he's telling you to pull sumo, which some powerlifters do - but again it's more about arm/femur length than total height. At least he's right that every athlete should deadlift.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjIvzoW04fGQdFM0YXVXRXNGVmZpMmZpa0JYM2stYWc trying... had 2 weeks off work for misery/depression (lucky me) then another 1 week coz i fractured my ribs falling over in the bathroom (fine at the gym barring bench press liftoff which i cant do myself above like 65kg) pretty shocked today that my bench hasn't suffered so much. other lifts im still "warming back up to where i was". ive cut squat from Session B (in SS) because i had been finding it just too much to do powerclean after squatting, since i was struggling most driving from the ground. anyway im coming back with any luck... been smoking ONLY 2 cigarettes per day for the last ~10 days and wondering when im finally gonna bite the bullet and get the balls to drop it completely. just had an idea for a new job i can do - become a "live-in carer". thats where you live with a disabled person 24/7. it probably really sucks but then so does my current BS (regular care assistant) but the money should be 1000% better. gtg now oh also i figured a prob with my squat was i was probably working with too much weight , which caused me to stoop and row my back/abs all the time, which fucked up my back and also didnt work my legs properly. so i am being careful now that if my form deteriorates at all (ie my back/balance falters) then im considering it too heavy. god i wanna zzz overall im feeling really good/not awful, tho 1 bad day at work can rape me (when things are particularly hectic). like last week i raped my 2 days off by sleeping then installing and playing TWO games in succession (dead island and then civ5) and then not sleeping before rushing to work on friday lol <- wtf addictive personality? i am quite relaxed about everything compared to how i was in the past, ie less obsessive about food/gym/posting/everything. which means less worry (i suffer from daily anxiety like a bitch). having said that i should be eating real quick rather than writing this so GG
