I found out that whenever I had my AC at full blast (read: fucking good sexy cold room) I always got nightmares and generally spent a bad night overall. NO rest and barely any sleep. I just upped the temp a bit, and I'm having these sick nights, where I dream I'm jerking 100kg while a pornstar sucks my winstick.

I have dreams/nightwares when I drink liquids before sleep. They are caused cause I feel like peeing in the middle of the night. Just skip them, even if u feel a bit thirsty I've learnt to not drink anything 1-2 hours before bed, even if I eat.

Going 3x a week to the gym is so boring, I wanna go 5-6 times even if its to do some cardio, practice the oly lifts with a barbell and do curls. Gonna restrain from that till I'm done with exams next week though

Solution:

Move to upstate NY, where even our "warm" nights require that you wear a sweatshirt after ~midnight. I don't think I've ever used an AC in my life; we just open the windows up around midnight, go to sleep, and then close them first thing in the morning (between 6 and 8 am, before it gets warm out).

I'm also mad jelly of you guys that have dreams and stuff. I don't ever dream, unless i've just hit snooze on my alarm clock and I'm only half asleep. Never during a regular night.

Well my "dreams" are non-existant too. I suffered from a sleep disorder a while back, and since the death of my grandpa I haven't been able to dream properly. The times that I dream are nightmares and I wake up in the middle of the night wanting to squat 2xBW .

Another terrible Deadlift day. Oh well, at least I still have Thursday to look forward to. Squatting 160kg would be very cool for me after having it as a goal for the past year.

my dreams are so fucking weird. whatever i did the previous day i'd have crazy variations of it.when i played starcraft i would have dreams about sc2 in the style of david lynch.

went to the gym today, and chalk is fucking magic. holy balls it just makes your hand stick to the damn barbell. iunno if it's because my hands are naturally super sweaty or what, but when i chalked up my hands i felt like i was on roids. 115kgx5 easy

ya it could be from needing to pee, that didnt trigger in my head really but that was a problem in the past i think, so thanks for reminding me. it just didnt feel like it was the problem but ill bare it in mind and it probably is. i do take magnesium + zinc ( and a huge vit B, and a little vit D ) . those recent nights i have been cramming a banana milkshake down me before sleep so that extra fluid would impact. ps , if you drink milk a lot, stick some bananas (3) and milk in the blender, it is epic tasting chunky milkshake

Had a very nice day at the gym today. Long deadlift workout, I'm trying something new there and I like it, at least for now.

Throughout the workout though, I swear I ran into half the guys I've ever had a problem with on campus. From the guys that brought me to the gym freshman year - just to make fun of me behind my back, guys from the fraternity I dropped pledging, guys from my classes, my extra curriculars, my jobs, everyone I can think of.

I get over to the platform, and the worst one of them is already deadlifting 225, which ends up being his top set. I do my warmup, pass his weight, keep going, and I can see him watching me in between his sets in the mirror every time i put another weight on. Eventually he just leaves. Other guys end up on the squat rack in front of me, the smith machine behind me, the benches or dumbbell racks to the left, somewhere through the workout. Keep on going.... the last set is to pull a 5rm, and I'm pretty tired, but I go ahead and do it anyway. It's hot as hell in the gym, and I'm a bit sunburned anyway, so my entire body is bright red. Dripping sweat, I pull the five rep max. Every time I lock it out, I see four of these guys behind me in the mirror just staring at me, feels great. I set down the fifth rep, but I'm really "feeling it" right now, got my adrenaline going, and I've been deadlifting for half an hour anyway, so I might as well try. I pick the bar up again, and again, and again. Pulled 8 reps of my 5rm, felt awesome, couple guys came up to me afterwards and told me that it was an "impressive lift" and they were amazed such a light guy could do it.

Still not pulling that heavy, but it felt damn good!

Also I'm using mixed grip on my top sets now instead of double overhand, and I did a few sets of shrugs. Need to get used to this. I have blisters for the first time in two years. The palms of my hand are all callous, but my fingers are all soft, and now they're all blistered, and I have to swim tomorrow. Life is great.

Fucking smashed my atg back squat PR by 15 pounds today and finally hit 200kg. Thats like 10kg in the last two weeks on both my bs and fs, drinking fish oil everyday instead of booze is doing wonders for me. Havent seen progress like this in two years lol.

Back squat - 315 365 385 405 415 430(PR) 440(PR) 450x then 3x345 355 365
Clean and jerk - 135 185 205 225 245 265 275 295 305 315 no misses :D jerk felt really good
Clean pulls - 3x2 @ 345

Then played rugby for 2 hours in 90 degree weather and still managed to be in the best shape there despite my workout. tore shit up. i've probably lost like 10 pounds in water weight and haven't ate in 9 hours lol time to refill
how reasonable is it to eat off wood instead of your tummy?

So now that i have a lot of free time i've been doing "small sessions" (from lift-run-bang.com). Basically I do my madcow shit mon-wed-fri and small sessions on tue-thurs-sat. I've been feeling really good doing them. They basically consist of getting to the gym and doing 2-3 movements. Light weight, lots of reps (80-100 range). They must be movements that don't affect your recovery, basically just to give you a pump and get moving (20-30 mins in the gym max). I've done curls, triceps, lat pulldowns, rear delt shit and abssss. Feels good you guys should try it
