nymphaceae what are you trying to say. Out of reading all of your comments, I don't even know what you are trying to prove. You seem like you are arguing for the sake of arguing.

From what I've read, it seems like he's pushing for a diet, because he believes that everyone has celiac disease. He is saying that almost all other diets will cause this diet, and that they also cause alzheimers, dementia, muscular dystrophy, and many other things.

I can argue that his diet will cause paranoia, lack of muscle, tooth decay, fatigue, and many more things . It's easy to post things off of something like NCBI, but it's not so easy to show why or why not something works. As a friend to the TL.net community, I strongly believe that his diet is pushing for something like a submissive and feminine look/mindset.

Think about it, lack of muscle, paranoia (which is strongly related to submissiveness), and fatigue. Also, it's weird when a guy sits down, and eats 5 bananas for one meal. If any of you do this, then please submit a video...

I'd love to know how the fuck you got any of that from what Eshlow said.

If I liked bananas, I'd do it.

One of my meals the other day consisted of chicken breast, two packets of oatmeal, a giant bagel, two servings of milk, a pack of granola bars, and a pack of gushers.

Associates degree in biochem, lol?

Nope, I have a BS in biochemistry from the University of Maryland. The fact is that I know the intricacies of metabolic function because we had to memorize all of the relevant pathways of carbohydrate, protein, fatty acid, and nucleic acid metabolism and how they all interact in the context of nutrition along with rate limiting steps, alternative reactions, etc.

You're trying to make the "biochemistry" of what we eat sound complicated when I already have a solid grasp of what actually happens in the body. And I find that particularly funny because you're trying to make it look like you're smart and I'm just some nobody who knows nothing about biochemistry and nutrition at all.

Sorry man, you're barking up the wrong tree here.

And yes, I have no idea how he got any of that out of what I was saying LOL.

All I recommend, for the most part, is to eliminate all processed foods from people's diets.

I think you're underestimating nutrition. It's a lot more complicated, than you make it out to be. If you're going to be cocky about it, you're going to probably make a series of sick people, and not even realize it. They'll be right in front of you, but you'll probably blame it on something else, like the C02 levels rising. Just because you memorized biochemical pathways, doesn't mean you understand the bodies fluid dynamics. You can probably say the difference in pressure from the lungs to the arms, but you can't calculate them yourself. You can probably say the differences in N1, N2, receptors, but you can't say where they're located, and why they might require a different charge.

When you're giving out percentages about the different amounts of protein/carbs/fiber you're supposed to be taking, I have a feeling that you can't do the math behind it. I have never been to Maryland, and never really plan to go there. I don't know if your classes are easy, but hopefully you can find a job some day. Just remember that partial credit isn't appreciated.

5 bananas in a meal is weird? Proud weirdo here. I eat at least 2000 calories per day from fruits. Loving these local mandarins right now. Record at the moment is 25 in one sitting (~50kcal each). Fatigue? Eating this way is the cure for fatigue

lol, and with that I'll take my leave from this thread.

It's quite funny the people that get all angry at me and try to bash me.... and fail to actually present any scientific evidence from studies to argue their points.

This guy on youtube eats mostly dates and bananas only.

And his strava page:

He is a top amateur runner and all his blood values are excellent. He does need B12 injections though.

Yeah that reminded me of durianriders which is why I asked. It is sorta like the exact opposite of what I am doing. I just started the 21 day sugar detox, plus I eat autoimmune protocol of paleo.

I try to eat all fruit but I still eat cooked evening meals up to 6 days a week (and still find myself cheating on bread or even processed garbage like chips every now and then but usually regret it and learn from it). Fruit the past few weeks has been mostly a split between dates, kiwifruit and mandarins. Sometimes I have brown rice; but it's never as good as (very dehydrating) cooked vegetable soup (but I have to make it XD). ~1.5 heads of lettuce per day too. Average around 2700kCal for $15-$20.

Durianrider was a factor in me giving this a go. Experience is trumps.

can someone explain in simple terms what eshlow, nymphacaea, and gendi are trying to say without all the fluff? i want to understand nutrition more to improve m own diet and health, but i can't really follow what they are saying.

right now, my diet is mostly paleo. from what i've read here in this forum, it seems to be the best.
various meats and fish
eggs
vegetables (broccoli, cailiflower, carrots, squash/zucchini, chinese veggies like bokchoy and others, spinach)
some grains like rice and 12-grain bread
fruits (mostly bananas, apples, berries that i stick into a blender and drink)
almonds and sunflower seeds for snacks (im allergic to other tree nuts)
milk
water
sometimes fruit juices or tea
occasional meal out at a restaurant, though i try to stick to non-processed foods

Gendi and Eshlow mostly agree on the foods, just not on prep. I personally prefer cooked foods.

I don't think anybody except nymphawhatsis understands what nymphawhatsis is saying, because it's either unwarranted attacks on Eshlow, or involves arguing against things that, as far as I can tell, nobody actually said.

The paleo diet is a fad diet. It is popular because it tells people certain foods people love to eat are healthy. At the same time it tells people to cut out a pretty meaningless food group just for the sake of appearing to be a very specific diet. A bit like religious have very intricate regulations for diet as well. Makes them look like they know what they are talking about.

If you get a large part of actual calories from fruits and real vegetables, you probably have a decent to good diet, whatever label you put onto it. But we all love to eat something that is bad.

If you force yourself not to eat whole grain bread and then feel like you did such a good job not eating all those 'bad foods' so you can cheat a little and eat some dairy/cheese/icecream, then that is just terrible.
Paleo diet promotes cheating on your diet. Paleo diet apparently is so good, you cna get away with cheating. Just go to the blogs of the paleo people and see what they eat. Coffee, protein bars, dairy, bread, etc.
Then paleo diet promotes extremely unhealthy diets like bacon&eggs while telling you you can't eat whole grain bread for breakfast.

Sugars aren't bad. They are actually very good as they are the fuel our body 'likes' using the most. We evolved to fuel ourselves with carbs/sugar/starches. As for getting fat on them, I highly doubt fat people would not loss weight when they could somehow force themselves to be on a good 80/10/10 diet. Fat people love their animal protein and high fat diet. They don't get fat on potatos. They get fat because of the grease, oil, cream, cheese they put on top of it.

Show me why I shouldn't eat bacon and eggs and I will cut them from my diet. I'm serious.

Uhm, how about we get some disclosure here, Hana, since you're attacking Paleo.

What's your preferred diet?

People who don't follow a diet aren't the people you use to determine the effectiveness of a diet. But you seem to be doing that.

Sugars aren't inherently bad in moderation, just like everything else. However, excessive sugars do screw your metabolism where fat retention is concerned, due to the way insulin works.

Funny thing, bacon and eggs are actually two of the foods least likely to fuck with my Crohn's. I eat a lot of them. They don't manage to somehow ignore my Crohn's and make me fat.

My 3 year old son eats a similar diet to me. He can almost do unassisted chinups. Don't think he's heading for worlds fattest man either.

I have yet to see someone suggest people eat ice cream, bread, or cheese under a paleo label on this site. Hana you seem to love to attack things that just don't happen around here. Why?

In the end the entire debate seems to come down to eggs and meat. Can we JUST focus on that please since everyone seems to agree on everything else.

I have read the mainstream science consensus on satured fat. Some of you people have claimed to have read as well but found it not convincing enough. At that point I have nothing more to say. I don't claim to have some magical paper that proves it in a way you people will accept. But when the current basis is strong enough for mainstream science/doctors/nutritionists to accept it but not for you, I don't have anything more to say. And as laymen repeating the debate here is silly.
Just read what wikipedia links to. I don't claim to have anything better.

What I do want to say is to tell you to make sure you aren't creating confusion and undermining consensus about satured fat in the same way it happened with tobacco

So eggs & bacon are high in satured fat, calorie dense and lack fiber and have few water weight per calories. Therefore they are not filling, contain molecules that play a role in CHD and might in fact be the no.1 agent in causing the epidemic we saw happening since the '50.

Obviously eating the same calories in banana's or whole grain bread should be healtier.

As for a 3 year old not being fat and being able to do chin-ups, neither has anything to do with diet. Personally I have never ever seen a fat 3 year old except on tv. I do know many many people that have CHD. Keeping your heart and vascular system healthy at a later age in life should be the no.1 priority of your diet today.

If you have Crohn's disease you are an exception and things may be entirely different for you. It might be best to eat a diet that keeps you healthy right now but puts you at a higher risk of getting CHD.

You may want to take a look at this video:

Results of long term research on plant-based diets are only slowly coming in since for a long time it wasn't a very popular diet to research.
