I totally agree with Clem’s reason for playing PvT, TvT is just incredibly volatile in the early game and a bit too coinflippy. If Clem was dodging it because he was bad in the mid and late game I’d feel a bit differently | ||

If it comes to it Clem will play PvT in the finals of a huge prize pool tournament, which isn’t a level of commitment Reynor ever put into his off race No shade on Reynor’s Toss but in 15 years of the game only Clem has ever rotated an off race into his locker that they trust to this degree. Not super relevant to top tier tournament play, but Clem has had spells as the highest ranked EU server Toss as well, playing all matchups. I don’t think anyone has ever done that in the history of the game either. I know Maru for one had a very highly ranked Toss account but I don’t think he ever got it to #1 Toss on his server. | ||

PvT* but Yeah I agree, back then Protoss wasn’t as strong as it is now, imho Clem is not intrinsically better with his offrace than Reynor was, it’s just better meta atm A few patches ago he would still have to play TvT | ||

Clem isn't facing any Terrans on that level as it's only really him and Maru being S-tier right now | ||

Clem's skill-set does not give him an advantage in tank wars and mech vs mech. it's like playing a completely different RTS game compared to vZ and vP. early-game TvT is not particularly volatile or coin-flippy. yolo doom drops are manageable and are usually a sign of desperation. (early game*) raven vs raven comes down to skill, not luck. but yea, the positional tank and air control wars are probably not Clem's cup of tea | ||
