One thing I hope people notice is how lackuster and insuficient the viper nerf is.

There is no point in putting the counterplay AFTER the viper already abducted your units. That's not counterplay. And sometimes it isn't even worth it to focus them after the abduct because:

1) they already killed your core unit
2) you need to kill their units, the viper already did what it should, you ned to wiin the engagement now or you lose and killing a 0 energy viper is not your priority.

The change should have been a different one.

I always hated Abduct. I don't know what's fun about a "click-to-kill no counter-play" ability.

The change was exactly what they wanted, an inconsequential nerf on an absurd unit that dominates the lategame of all Zerg matchups. And to think Blizzard wanted them as lair tech to replace overseers.

I mean, I've seen Maru do it plenty of times. People are always hype for his amazing comebacks. We're only blaming Serral because of the general Zerg performance.

Honestly I think the viper change has more to do with visual/mecanical jankiness than any gameplay change

abduct is a net negative to the game, it just completely nullifies units.

Serral needed the Lurkers because Byun wasn't spending money preemptively preparing for a Ghost transition. It's an easy explanation really.

I only remember seeing one Skytoss game in this tournament so far. I think it was Astrea vs Reynor if I remember correctly. It was the one game Astrea won.

Most of the PvZ games have ended in the mid or midlate game and on the ground.
