What would that do? the main problem GSL has is it isn't that popular among korean folks and I doubt Serral playing in it would change anything there. Foreign sc2 fans already watch GSL anyway

He makes more money cleaning up the easy tournaments in Europe he doesn't have to travel to.

And as long as people keep saying that he's the GOAT without even trying why would he bother? No point embarassing himself when people already think he's the best. Yeah, getting eliminated in the first round like Reynor did would be embarrassing for the so-called "GOAT" of EU fanboys.

The ways of Europe playing statistically will allow the favorites tend to win the series, instead of his opponents making upset victories. For example, it is very rare to have player like Lambo to do proxy hatch to the player like Serral in one game of the series while this may be common in the first round of GSL.

Even around 2018, when GSL was more stacked than today, Serral would have been a long shot favorite like the other top players. Nowadays he would be a big favorite like Maru, herO, Reynor, Dark since there are only a few top players left in the scene. However, the other players (Bunny, Cure, GuMiho, RagnaroK, DRG, etc.) are far more dangerous than the non top 4-5 EU players so losing in group stage would not be far fetched either, albeit unlikely for a safe player such as Serral.
