Not just the only other G5L contender, but pretty much all the other GSL title contenders in general lol herO and Dark were still participating and Reynor was in it as well Yea and neither Dark nor Reynor made the playoffs. Reynor didn't win a single match. It's a bit disingenous to talk about how much weaker Code S has become when it's still so competitive that results like that still happen.
Exactly, GSL is still pretty competitive even if obviously not as much as it used to be.
Maru just makes it look easy

Going to miss Artosis doing GSL, it really won't be the same. They still haven't announced anything official in regards to future GSL Code S seasons have they?

Tasteless said it was their last cast in the studio at the desks like that -- Did he mean together with Artosis, or that English GSL is gone now that Arty is done? I expected someone like State to co-cast with Tasteless going forward, but it really sounded like english GSL was done even if GSL keeps going next year

Always took that long, so... we'll just have to wait for now. I hope that if there's a future for GSL, they will allow for remote casting. And I hope Artosis will be at more international tournaments now that he left Korea.

Tasteless already announced that he won't keep going with GSL casting if it's without Artosis, afaik.

Tastosis were a massive part of SC2's early success. Artosis remains the greatest caster SC2 has ever had.

The idea - which he also said right after the part about the desks - is to do remote casts like for ASL.

I do fear the state of SC2 esports justifiably hinges on how much ESL is willing to put into it. With Blizzard seemingly dropping support after this 2022-2023 ESL season ends, it does feel like we may have just witnessed the final GSL Code S. Hope I'm wrong though but that fear is spreading and has been for months now.
