I really hate the fact that these are bo3. Its such a problem for me that it makes me not like this new format at all despite the round robin seemed like it could have been interesting otherwise...

Its just, this is ro10, and for that bo3 is just too gimmicky and weaker players with weird stuff have potential to score more upsets. Which I absolutely love in bo1 and bo3 formats otherwise, but not in a gsl "quarter final". It diminishes the importance of this stage of such a tournament.

Hope they change this in next seasons.

Well, Bo5 would take forever with a Round robin format.

It would take longer yes, but maybe have 2 less matches per day and add 1 more round? I am sure there would be a good way to make it a bo5 and not be too lengthy.

When did he pull ahead? Whenever I checked the workers, Rogue seemed to be doing better and resources lost he seemed to be up as well. And suddenly his supply plummeted.

He massively screwed up an engagement in the middle of the map and was not reacting properly to the burrow movement roaches counter attacks losing his roach warren. Also he was just starting to finally build lurkers but in the worst possible time. Ragnarok never stopped building roaches and just caught him off guard. Very sloppy play there from Rogue he should have easily won that game to be honest.

When he killed 30 drones with 12 burrowed roaches, and then the warren a few mins later.

Uhm, so why did Ragnarok decide to completely throw away a won game?

Maybe because he lost the third base during the aggressive attack on Rogue's bases made him thinking that massing with ling+banes later wont be feasible enough.

Yeah, all Ragnarok need to do is buidling 3-4 Spores around his bases, and he can do whatever the hell he want with lingbane into Rogue base, going to Spire when Rogue was ahead by 12 Mutas is just not very good.

I think he completely misread that situation there and didn't realize how far ahead he was.

Trap looks good and all, but Byun just keep playing the same style is just nut. His winning depending if he can catch the opponent army off-guard, he delayed the tech and upgrade to use mass force, but that just doesnt work. This is like watching a bull-fight to be frank.

When Trap uses Templar, they get their Storms off and the Terran looks bad.

When everyone else uses Templar, they get EMP'd and the Terran looks amazing.

All he needed to do was not go mutas. He made the only possible wrong choice that could lose him a won game. I just didnt understand it at all hehe

# Ties are broken in the following order:

- Overall 'win point' difference
- Overall number of 'map wins'
- 'Match win' between tied players
- 'Win point' difference between the tied players
- Number of 'map wins' between the tied players
- Tie breaker match (Bo1)
- Coin toss

Was mentioned on stream at the beginning.

Liking the new format - if I could change things, I would make it bo5 for the Ro6 and bo7 for the Ro4.

If that makes it too many games, I would settle for bo5 for the elimination matches in the Ro6.

Byun look unprepared and lacking discipline/strategy, hopefully he can play the spoiler role and knock the 2 Zerg off a bit. As things stand, I would pick Rogue as 1st and Ragnarok in 2nd, 3rd would be up to Ryung vs Trap. Despite Trap winning against Byun, I think Ryung could have a good chance against him, just like Gumiho did in previous round.

The ro6 is just a shorten version of the typical group stage in GSL, where you skip the first 2 matches. Yeah, its pretty bad idea to be in Bo3.

Btw I just realized that the main way to determine how players win, is by the "Overall 'win point' difference"...
NOT match wins.

For example, let's say Rogue goes 2-1, 2-1, 2-1, 2-1. He beats 4 players, but he's only at +4.
Let's say Trap goes 2-0, 2-0, 2-0, 1-2. He beats 3 players and loses to 1, but he's at +5.
Trap advances in 1st place, not Rogue.

It makes sense in a way but it's strange too. Normally the idea of a Bo3 is to give you chances for the better player to win. So if Rogue wins 2-1 vs all 4 players, normally you'd say it doesn't really matter that he didn't dominate those 4 players, he still won the 4 matches which proves consistency and skill.

But in this RR format, it puts a lot of emphasis on map wins and how hard you beat your opponent. It's not wrong but it's definitely interesting in that it puts weight on how hard you beat your opponent, and losing 1-2 isn't too bad since it was still a close match. I would say this way is more fun though, and since players still end up playing 4 matches in a RR, it still gives enough chances for players to perform.

Hang on ro6 is bo3 as well? And semi is bo5? Good damn thats so stupid... Why?

The ro6 is just a shorten version of the typical group stage in GSL, where you skip the first 2 matches. Yeah, its pretty bad idea to be in Bo3.

Na it’s a fantastic idea

Gives my toss boys a higher chance to win due to shorter series

GSL here we comeee

The Toss buff we didn't know we needed! Time for Creator to win a GSL!

I don't think that's correct? These rules only apply in case of a tie - therefore not if Rogue has one victory more than Trap.

Ohh I gotcha, they were only listing tiebreaker rules not rules in general. Thanks!

Well, I have to admit it. Round Robins can actually be fun.
