The Classic returns For event number three. Random players, rejoice and boot up your PC.
We watched in wonder as SKillous ascended to the throne in BGC1. We cheered alongside Vanya as he edged out Goblin in BGC2. And now the time has come to crown a new champion of Random in Starcraft 2.
Join me on Monday, Mar 30 6:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) for the Bald Guy Classic #3.
Bald Guy Classic #3 features open registration again, so if you'd like to showcase your prowess and take a scrap at the $50 prize pool, you can register on Challonge. Don't forget to check in 30 minutes before the tourney starts!
Speaking of the $50 prize pool, I've got some good news! Thanks to your generous donations last time, the prize pool for BGC3 is already fully funded! However, we've got more coupon codes, and there are more Bald Guy Classics to host! If we raise over $100 this time, I'll increase the prize pool of BGC4. Hit up the Matcherino page and use code (what else...) "BaldGuy3" to add some money to the pot.
One final note: as we've now established the Bald Guy Classic as a running series, this thread will serve as the updates thread for all future BGC events. Keep your eyes here for updates, VoDs, and more goodies.
Congrats to TeebuL for taking out Krystianer in the finals of Bald Guy Classic #3! It was a really great event, and I couldn't be more proud of all our brave contenders.
The Classic will continue with #4 in two weeks at a new time! BGC4 will take place on April 13th at 13:00 GMT (+00:00), so as to invite other players to participate. I'm also happy to announce that the prize pool for BGC4 will be increased to $75 total! So come one, come all.
You can sign up for BGC4 on Challonge. You can donate to the Matcherino using code "Creighton3".
There are about 24 hours remaining to sign up for the Bald Guy Classic, and so far, it looks like a pretty easy path to the prize pool! If you haven't signed up yet, now is the time!
We're changing it up for Bald Guy number 5 The money's still real and the games are still live. But the tournament's server is changed to kay-arr: and the winner this time will be a Korean star!
Not only are we upping the prize pool, we're going to fish for new talent in the latest iteration of the Bald Guy Classic, which will be held on the Korea server! You can sign up for the Korean edition of the Bald Guy Classic on our challonge page. We also need to raise a bit more money, so if you want to contribute, just use code "BaldGuy5" on the Matcherino page!.
The Bald Guy Classic will be brought to you, as always, by the bald guy himself - CreightonOlsen. If any foreign language casters are interested in joining me, please feel free to get in touch.
Update: Due to the exciting announcement of TSL5, Bald Guy Classic #5will be pushed back one week, to May 11th. The time will remain the same, 11:00 GMT (+00:00), and will still be held on the Korean server!
A new queen is crowned, as Scarlett takes a nail-biting 3-2 victory over MCanning in the Bald Guy Classic #5! Congrats to all our players in the first-ever KR edition of the classic. Check out the VoDs on my YouTube playlist if you missed any of the series'.
And the announcement of a winner can only mean one thing: The next classic is already on the calendar! Join me back on the EU server on May 26th at 17:00 GMT (+00:00) for Bald Guy Classic #6! Anyone can sign up for a shot at the $100 prize pool on this Challonge page. If you're not a player, but you'd like to continue to support the classic, just use code "BaldGuy6" on my Matcherino page. Bald Guy Classics will continue every 2 weeks so long as the community funds them, so please do help out.
I do think its kinda offensive to cancel the tournament on the last minute. It's your responsibility to market the tournament so that more people signup.
You failed at your job (by looking at results) and by that you cancelled the tournament on last moment because you didn't think its good investment. It's understandable, but because you failed at the marketing you should take responsibility of your actions and let the tournament be played, even if its bad investment.
I mean now it was kinda slap in a face to the players who reserved their time to play this tournament.
Maybe a good option might be to change the format to double elimination if a minimum number of sign ups are not met (announced beforehand). I think OSC runs some tournaments this way.
And with the prize pool paid out, that wraps Bald Guy Classic #6. Congrats to Rodzyn, who joins his fellow champions as a Bald Guy Classic winner! Bald Guy Classic #7 will return after DreamHack Fall, and I am hoping to do a "Tournament of Champions" for Bald Guy Classic #8!
The Bald Guy Classic returns with #7 this Wednesday. Everyone's favourite all-random tournament will begin at 17:00 GMT (+00:00), and registration is open to all. Participants can register on the Challonge page. Be sure to check in 30 minutes before the event starts.
As always, Bald Guy Classic is funded by the generosity of the community through Matcherino. Use code "BaldGuy7" and kick in a few bucks at https://matcherino.com/t/baldguy7 to fund the $100 prize pool.
The Bald Guy Classic will resume for Tournament #8 in one week's time. The event will be held on Wednesday, Nov 18 6:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00). As always, this is a $100 event, with open signups on the Challonge page.
The tournament is wholly funded by viewers like you, so if you're feeling generous, head over to our Matcherino page to kick in a few bucks - https://matcherino.com/t/BaldGuy8, and be sure to use the code: "BaldGuy8."
Note: This is your last chance to qualify for the Bald Guy Classic #9, which will be an invitational Tournament of (Random) Champions!
On December 22nd and 23rd, the eight previous winners of the Bald Guy Classic will fight their way through a single-elimination bracket. This is the only all-random tournament in SC2, and we have eight masterful players who are ready to showcase their skills and take a bite at the $350 prize pool.
In chronological order of their wins, your previous BGC champions who will be competing are: SKillous, Vanya, TeebuL, RotterdaM, Scarlett, Rodzyn, Soul, and Krystianer. The bracket will be seeded one week before the competition based on Aligulac rankings at that time.
If you'd like to contribute to the prize pool, use code "BaldGuy9" on the Matcherino page.
