Rigging PvP matches so nobody watches their tournament.
Rigging PvP to eliminate the best players with a chance of beating Serral. The organizers of this event obviously want Serral to win it and he probably would have still won it with a fair bracket but they aren't taking any chances.
Haha, I can't even tell if your are trolling or not.
Honestly I'm not sure either. This happens every single time there are 2 foreigners in the top 8 of an event though and it's getting ridiculous. It can only be random draw so many times. They pretty much said when they announced the event that it only exists because of Serral so they definitely want him to win. It wouldn't surprise me if they "randomized" it an extra time when they saw that the first bracket had Serral on track to play hero/Stats/Dear back to back to back. As it is there's a good chance he only has to beat one of those 3 to win the tournament and they are his biggest threats. His next biggest threat would be gumiho who is also on the opposite side. Just some crazy coincidences here.
The funniest thing is that they could get a bunch of viewers for bracket draws at these events, it's always pretty exciting. Apparently bracket rigging is just too much fun for them

Well ok not literally, I only looked at the 2018-19 seasons, but in any cases it almost never happen or at least not more often than it's statisticaly probable.
Not sure if this feels like a rigging to be honest. The only real "rigging" I would say was when they made up a rule in the last minute to put Maru and Serral on opposite brackets in Blizzcon just so they could get the chance of the dream final.

Man, what the hell? Serral could draw herO, Gumiho or TIME; he got TIME and he's facing either Stats or herO next and a korean in the finals. Obscenely rigged, right...
"this is statistically impossible!" -a bunch of people with a layperson's understanding of statistics who have not run any actual numbers or looked up any data

I just see Time as a walkover and then I think Zest is going to PvP Dear out and get stomped by Solar which will result in a very underwhelming and one sided Serral vs Solar finals. I don't deny Serral is the favorite by far no matter how the bracket is laid out. But I feel like this takes his chances from 30-40% to like 60-70% because he will only have one challenging match. I'd love to be wrong though as Serral solar would be so uninteresting I won't even watch it.

That's the point. Serral is insecure in Bo8 and we play tunes...
lol
The Home Ground.
All SC2 Post-army Koreans can retire to Finland...
Why if you were to ‘rig’ the draw of your tournament would you do it like that? PvP isn’t exactly a beloved matchup, plus at least to my mind the appetite for fans is more for Serral the Korean killer to actually play the good Koreans and beat them, than for him to get bracket luck and dodge.
Also as an aside I felt Grant did a pretty good job today, wasn’t familiar with the guy but he was grand to me.
Twitch chat didn’t appear to agree haha, in all my time following various things I don’t think any community I’m privy to is close to as harsh as ours is on casters/hosts.
