(not saying ZvT is imba, but on the other hand it would explain why so many good foreigner are zergs )

The player base for Zerg is relatively larger in EU/NA than in KR; implying than a korean is better than a foreigner nevertheless and that if a non korean wins it's because of op Zerg is frankly out of place in 2018.

In this HSC were invited most of the best Zerg players in the world while not actually the top Protoss or Terran; i was expecting a full Z top4 or something similar, instead we have seen an overabundance of Terran.
Only Serral is in the top8 and he is the best player in the world right now, how could it be? Sure, Zerg players may be underperforming but maybe the patch actually changed something? ASSUMING Zerg were op before, they definitely are not anymore; at least, it appears they aren't at the moment.

Oh FFS how many smileys do i have to use so people understand it's a joke...

Zergs in Korea are in slump, Dark's not there, Rogue is volatile and we lost some great names(eg Soulkey). At the same time Korean Terrans are actually good enough to use their racial advantage. We used to had plenty of good Zergs in Korea, in the blink era IIRC it was 50/50 ZP and 3 Terran

Given the average opinion here, smileys need to be properly answered.
If you exclude Life and Nestea, korean Zergs in sc2 have been slumping forever(except for HoTS era)! Despite Serral's victories this year, Zergs have the fewest Premier victories out of the three races(not by much, it's pretty close).

On LoTV : Z 19 premier, P 18, T 16. And Z also have the highest number of runner up.

You have to add up WoL and HoTS numbers; 8/19 Z's victories in 2018, 6 of which are Serral's.

And 100% of Terran's victories in 2018 are Maru's, what the point ? I dont get it.

Which means they are both good enough to be excluded from their respective races in balance whining sessions.

Considering some players said that they have to archon to play like Maru I suggest to remove Maru from balance discussions at all

So what? I'm pretty sure it takes two people (who hate each other) playing archon to emulate my playstyle.

haha

I still think it's been more popular at HSC (and other online test match tourneys) then it's been since last year after the previous patch.

Just so we are clear, are you commenting on the quality of play from the two players and how it led to the outcome, or is this a balance complaint saying that Zerg is OP compared to Terran?

I think zvt is imba and at the same time Serral is much better than Bunny ;D, also catching the medivacs didnt really make much of a difference , Bunny failed to find any weaknesses at all.

You think it's imba in favor of Zerg? How do you account for soO, Rogue and Reynor losing so many matches to Terrans in this tournament? They all just had a bad tournament at the same time?

Of those 3 only Raynor was playing good inthe tourney. Rogue didn't even try and soO was still slumping hard. Reynor needs to learn how to play vs mines as he somehow missed this era or totally forgot Using Rogue especially is a pathetic try as he played horriblpy.

The thing is that this is at a level where the players didn't need the old cyclone to hold proxy reaper.

Also all the Terrans at HSC are lacking in skill so they try to compensate with cheese

Really hard to gauge with TLPD but considering his winning streak it might be possible. Can't say I followed enough SC2 over the last years to give a more educated guess

How this would work for Maru and his domination in Korea? (and losing quite soon in every other tournament except WESG and Blizzcon) I'm asking because Maru was playing a harder opponents.

I don't want your guess, I'm asking if the system would favor a Maru v Dark(e.g.) win over a Serral v Mana(e.g.) win (I believe so but I would love to be sure).

Can't give you more than an educated guess. I'm only working alot with TLPD and check the ELO after every update I do but have no clue about how everything is coded in itself.

I'm 99.5% sure though that you are right. Serral would be probably around the peak ELO now while Mana would be quite low. Maru probably would have an ELO in the range of Serral (don't ask me who would be higher) while Dark would still be quite clearly above Mana. As a result: Maru win vs. Dark > Serral win vs. Mana

I thought pre-patch 1 hellion into cyclones was standard to hold it. Multiple hellions works too no doubt, but people probably aren't as practiced with it yet.
