What was disappointing for you in that match ? The thing that Inno went bio 3 times in a row ? Believe me or not, it was not him to choose it, but it was life's brilliance what forced Inno to go into Bio. It is so risky to go mech when you know your opponent might attack you before you are prepared. Life first attacks went before the terran player made choice between mech and bio. After such an attack there is a high chance ( especially against Life ), that the second wave is incoming. Gathering bio army is much faster and safer. At least theoretically. After game 1 Life was like : "ok, dont have chance against mech, must force him to go bio" , and he did it. ( In game 4, i guess it was Innovations fear of Life's pottenial agression what forced him to go this strange build, and then bio - but it was still Life who scared him in previous games ).
Life is playing brilliant tournament so far. In my opinion whatching this player at his great form can't be dissapointing Cheers!
It's one thing to go bio 3 times in a row, but INnoVation is the best mechanical Terran, he wasn't forced to go for 2-base all-ins.
Also I don't think the thor at that time in the game helps against any all-in, I think he might have wanted to do a thor/hellbat drop but then his hellions died.
In game 2 he was dead after the opening anyway. Iron fortress is a bad mech map so he couldn't go mech there. I just don't understand his build in game 4 but maybe if his hellion wouldn't have died it would have worked.
Meh Iron Fortress isn't that bad for mech, and Life struggles with mech on all maps anyway. But I didn't take issue with him going bio more so than with him just throwing all his stuff at 3-base Life without taking a 3rd of his own.
My personal finals hype power rank: 1.) Life vs Rogue (I don't know why but I always liked the combination of these two players for some reason. Also zerg is my fav race and I dig the matchup) 2.) Life vs sOs (Blizzcon 13 vs Blizzcon 14 champion clash) 3.) Classic vs sOs (Has a potential to get wonky) 4.) Classic vs Rogue (Just meh)

Ye, i kinda agree he wasn't forced to do 2 base all-ins, especially in game 2 after Life failed his first attack. Still I think life would have won zerg vs bio in mid/late game. Bio vs zerg is unfortunately so bad this days... ( Even such en excellent player like Inno sruggles to win with bio ). Maybe he knew it and wanted to rush Life before he got his ling/bane/muta composition. Life potential with this comp is sooo huge. A different theory is that Inno belives in his micro and plays less ground army more medivas style ( which is interrupter by mutas in mid game ), and thought he could snowball by this, so he didnt want Life to reach "muta point". However life's flanks with lings where too good for Inno's micro. Thats my two theories about his all-ins :D
Thor doesnt help ( or maybe, if you put a thor behind the wall, and keep ur bunker alive for a long time... Thor has huge dps output... meh, i donk know, just thinking aloud ), but he went bio behind this

The thing is, the thor came out at like 8 minutes. What build could he possibly expect to hit at that time that warrants a thor for defense over tanks/banshees/whatever?

Dunno I agreed that the thor with hellbats was for the drop. It would have been devastating if Life have gone for some sort of attack. We should consider 2 options - Life goes for attack or not. If he attacked Inno, got bio to defend ( at least his main. Thats why he went bio behind ) and made huge damage with his drop ( Life would have got any units at home ). I guess it would have been worth. Second option - Life doesnt go for an attack, and has units at home. Then probably his drop would have done some damage too - 4 hellbats and a thor are kinda scary. And still it is worth. The problem was that Life cought his hellions, as you mentioned , and the whole plan was failed - he left with bio with a slight disadvantage. I think this plan got a pottenial, but after his hellions died Inno didnt know what do, messed up a bit, and went full yolo mode.
