I would be interested to see your top 5 of Hots, anybody wanna do the list? (with some explanation)
1 - INnoVation: 2 GSL wins, 1 second place; 2 more Premier wins, including a 2013 season finale. Insane consistency and winrate (against Koreans). Even in the tournaments he didn't win he made his name (against Soulkey and against Maru in the OSL semifinals for example). Also simply playing and creating the best Terran styles possible for bio and mech in TvZ and TvT. Add to that insanely good stats in teamleagues, delivering when it counts. 2 - Life: Even with only one GSL win I give him the advantage over Maru, because similarily to INnoVation he was often "the guy to beat" (GSL 2013 INnoVation made his name of 2-0ing Life and Dream of 4-3ing life in the SSL semifinals). Not quite as consistent as INnoVation but peaking just as high if not even higher 2014/15. Very versatile and creative player that can change up his playstyle in months from being a top, somewhat defensive infestor or swarm host player to a mechanical beast mixing coinflips with strong macro tempo plays. 3 - Maru: This guy had a ticket to GSL/SSL semifinals and Ro8s. Won a GSL and an SSL. The reason why he doesn't stand on top is that he didn't participate (and consequently win) enough tournaments. Sickly good TvT and TvP, lacking a bit in TvZ. Much copied, never reached. 4 - 6: Classic, Zest, soO in some order
Big Innovation fan, but I don't know if I'd put Innovation at #1. Top 3 for sure, but he always underperformed at Blizzcon.
sOs is #1, because in the end Blizzcon is the culimination of the year, and when we look back 5 years from now, we'll see him on top 2 out of the 3 years of HotS.

I already brought this up, it's simple. Big J doesn't value Blizzcon as highly as you do.

Yeah, for me it's GSL/OSL/SSL > Blizzcon. Why? + better qualification format to get the currently best players in + longer bracket + preparation format sOs has two Blizzcon titles which in itself I consider less than INnoVations two GSLs, Maru's OSL+SSL, Classic's GSL+SSL, Life's GSL+Blizzcon. I guess an in depth analysis could offer him the chance to overtake the number 4-6 on my list because sOs has placed consistently rather high throughout HotS. But I'm pretty sure my top3 did pretty much the same so unless you value Blizzcon at the very least equally to GSL/OSL/SSL, sOs will come out behind.

Totally fine, i'm just throwing my thoughts out there.
3 deserve a lot of credit for a phenomenal end to HotS competitive play.
#3. Life #2. Sos
#1. David Kim and the RTS team at Blizzard
Thanks Blizzard for some great memories, improbable comebacks, soul-crushing losses, and a huge tonne of fun!
Had fun playing WoL 2v2 games all evening long with my Kramerica clan mates who are even worse at the game than i am i can't talk them into HotS.. they say its too complicated
Can't wait to dig into the new stories about the Terran Dominion!

As much as I wanted to laugh immediately at this post I had to remember that David Kim and the RTS team pushed through the Swarm Host changes even though a lot of people in the community and the pro scene didn't want them to.
With Swarm Hosts out of the way PvZ went back to being a watchable match up. It was a fucking nightmare before that.

fuck swarmhosts!
the "Silvers" in my clan won't play HotS .. they say its "too complicated". so when we get together on Sunday evenings.. its non-stop WoL we still find team games quickly.
Liquibets are so damn depressing... I was in rank 9 after inputting sOs vs Rogue and Life vs sOs. But after I inputted Classic vs Life (I purposely left this one as last since I knew I was going to miss out on 7 points), I dropped to 16... Ugh...
