I agree, while not a viable tactic early game, in a game like this it would've been great. Going to keep this in the back of my mind the next time I play against someone who plays late-game mech with many runby's.

You'd have to stare at the screen for so long before you can send them back to mining. Burrow is the better (and cheaper) solution (that is also much more useful all around). Spinecrawlers is the least attentionheavy one and doesn't cost any gas. Just dealing with the runbies is obviously the best if you have a few spare units for that. (a tiny roach/hydra force is pretty good for that)

And when a mech player is on 4+ bases with additional CCs he has no problem spending one scan to kill 16+ workers

You just press unload and wait until they all are on the ground, then resume mining. The biggest problem is that you still need to clean up the hellions, so you need that pack of roaches anyway.

your opponent is about to transfer workers to their third when two overlords come in with 14 drones/2 lings and you just start mining and killing SCVs

Seriously, watch that game again. soO was completely lacking a ground army and spines most of the time the hellions wrecked havok in his bases. And corrupters aren't really good versus hellions, but that has nothing to do with balance :D (Seriously, what was the point of following the hellions with 20+ corrupters? They just like watching drone BBQs?)

I don't think Mech is a problem, the problem is that games involving mech become boring due to limitations in the general design of sc2. Turtling in general doesn't need to be boring, as long as the other player has interesting ways to deal with it (and mech has ways to harass/fight)

herO is playing out of his mind right now. I can't think of a better Protoss than herO at the moment. The biggest upset here is probably Byul beating Innovation. Innovation is in a massive slump right now. It clearly showed when he lost versus Life. Now, losing to Life is pretty acceptable. But losing to Byul is not something that I expect from Innovation, who was the best Terran in the world. Right now, there is no best Terran in the world. All the Terrans are going through slumps (except maybe MMA, but that is another story for another day). Maru is in a big slump, Innovation is in a big slump. Will they ever recover? Who knows. If they do ever recover from this game changing slump, then we will see when. Innovation, like Zest, was once at the top and now he is going downhill. I want to like him, but it seems his play is not that likable right now. He is not the worst Terran out there right now, but if he keeps playing like he did against Byul, he might head there.
