Like this better? :D
Also, Phoenix is Australian
Looks great, thanks! I think you can keep it in a spoiler if you want, but the spoiler and quote together was too much. Phoenix doesn't have a country flag on Aligulac, at least not the Terran Phoenix, that's where WCS Predictor gets it from.
Thank you based Lorning for your bountiful gift of many many LR threads.
Also, you all are ignoring the obvious: Has is going to win IEM Shenzen on the back of the most unfulfilling and bullshit Protoss cheese ever conceived and ascend to godhood on the strength of the tears of the community.

I'm pretty sure if we just quote vanishingly small decimal places of percentages towards 100, we will both hit the 100 pages, and promptly get banned for spam. The TL mod gods are cruel overlords.

"venue related" thats so vague and ominuus sounding. I'm imagining they're just working on clearing out a small zombie infestation and then we'll be good to go.

Didn't even realise GSL was tonight. Gonna be a long evening! Wonder if I can crystalise Monster and snort it?
How are you staying awake, Lorning?
In Belgium? Gotta be a giant stack of chocolate. Or possibly a collection of delicious beers.
Just water right now, and this song on loop. Gets me euphoric for some reason.
Can't really argue with your taste in classic movie score music. TGTBTU soundtrack is pretty awesome.
Interesting tidbit, soundtrack related: remember that BWAAAH-BWAAAAAAAAAAH noise that Inception is famous for? You also remember that French song that they use to wake from the various dream levels? Turns out the composer took that French song and digitally manipulated it to create most of the score, including the massive Inception-noise. That's actually just the beginning buh-dum pattern of the song slowed down a bunch.

someone on reddit said she played a match as protoss, although I'm pretty sure she played most of the qualifier as zerg
I know she played minimum one match as PvX and another as ZvP.
she played PvZ then ZvP x3
Thanks for the clarification! Seems like she might have been messing with her first round opponent. I mean, given that she can wreck DRG with Protoss, I don't think Qualifier players are going to be a roadblock in that scenario.

she could have done Troll builds like Dragon's Troll Games and still qualified probably...

If I remember correctly she said she was thinking about playing P vs Z more regularly and wanted to try it out in a fun way in a qualifier.
Bit of an update. Huge technical issues all round, but things are starting to look better now and hopefully fully resolved in the next hour. Aiming for a latest start of 13:00 local time (07:00 CEST) but hopefully earlier. We will play both open brackets at the same time to catch up and finish the day on time so we can still deliver the following days as planned.
Apologies for the mess at the moment, hopefully things will pick up soon.

Sorry to hear that. Well at least I have WCS and GSL to occupy my time while I wait.
I really hope a GSL player wins this tournament. Life currently has the #2 headband, and the winner of this tournament will end up with it. If a non-GSL player wins this tournament then we probably won't see a #1 vs #2 headband match this year

Oh man, I was so hyped that for the first time I could have been watching a stacked tournament when I come home late at night from work, and then I see this.. -.-.. Usually I am stucked with American noob-tournaments, who are running at the time I'm back, but I looked forward to see some nice games. Sucks. And Code A with 3 Protosses and a Zerg.. goddamn boring.
This is the Chinese host. I would like to apologise if I didn't do the intros properly if you are one of the viewers who understood Mandarin Chinese. I would do my best to improve for the next introductions, but if it was not of quality, I seek your kind understanding on it .

We have everything up and looking stable. We are just switching all the players over to the Chinese accounts/server and hopefully that should be over quite quickly.
If everything goes successfully we could start in the next 30-45 minutes!

Watching the Japanese player... Why on Earth did he bring his forces back to defend there? I know his odds weren't great with a base race, but Has had a great Roach killing army and the perfect funnel... Not a good decision IMO.

The Chinese use their own server, because China and internet.
How is nathan and rotti casting it from California then? I don't think they can use the chinese client from NA correct?
Nah, Nate's got an account. He mentioned pretty early on stream the headache that it was to get one, but he had one (presumably for last year's IEM in China?).

What does the delay to this tournament stand at now..? 6 hours..? 7..?
If with delay you also mean downtime, that should be around right. But nothing that can be done about it, thats the price of bringing events to China.
Eh, I don't know. Warcraft 3 and Starcraft: Brood War events went more smoothly than this. I wonder which piece of technology we lost that events nowadays have so much downtime?

Well it's more like, you never what the venue will be like. You can't test things beforehand for days. If the internet or power just crashes and it didn't the day before, what can they do.

Do tell me how that technology will make their stream work, or allow an observer to broadcast the games from the US.
Frodan just said it on the Hearthstone stream: The circuit broke and the power at the venue went out, and that's why everything was interrupted. Your goddamn LAN won't restore electricity to a convention hall.

Still Blizzard's fault, they should ship generators with every sc2 copy!
I hope it was at least mildly tolerable for the players. Life seemed way tilted when he did that speedling allin, but that's also something Life kinda does sometimes. I hope things work out better this evening because this first day was just a long screw-up. Thank you so much to Nathanias and Rotterdam for casting though, I love you guys!

Huh, why would you want an observer to broadcast the games from the US if the event happens in China...?
Either way, yes if the internet crashes the broadcast will definitely stop. However the event can still progress smoothly and the players don't need to suffer those horrible delays. It kind of sucks for all the viewers and the sponsors, but at least it won't hurt the integrity of the tournament as a competitive event. You'll just have to communicate the results via, say, Twitter and hope that you can fix the problem for the next day.

Player comfort and tournament integrity don't keep events running, dude. If a Canadian Baneling Mine explodes in New York and no viewers are online to see it, does it still make a shockwave? No.
Why do we want an observer from the US? Because they couldn't broadcast the games in China, so Nate and Rotti were all we had.
