Tiger MADE golf what it is. Nadal, Fed etc are the drivers of worldwide interest in tennis etc.
You need dominating players and personalities to grow a scene. The game itself will never bring the same level of interest because only players/hardcore fans will watch. Tiger didn't make golf what it is by being popular. neither did Nadal and Fed dominate tennis because of their fanbase. They did it by being the best. how can you not see the difference? Stephano is NOT the best. But he WAS. That's the point. Also they did do it by being popular, but they were popular by being the best. This isn't always true. For example Jimmy White in snooker was huge but was runner up 6 times and never won. Their popularity drove the growth of the game. That's the issue here. If you want to grow the scene and not just have the dregs of a scene followed by hardcore fans only you need these personalities. You need people who viewers only tune in to watch them. Its vital. It is the opposite of destroying the scene, it is what keeps it alive and grows it. It blocks out opportunities for new blood, makes the game stale, and allows people who WERE dominant to keep playing in everything past their prime It does not, new blood can become bigger than otherwise would ever be possible thanks to standing on the shoulders of giants. See: Rory McIlroy. It doesn't make the game stale, that doesn't even make sense. Also they can't play in everything past their prime, since they have to qualify for most big tournaments especially WCS the biggest of them all. Your arguments are awful. Look at what BW taught us. There are limited spots in tournaments. These spots are taken up by these former champions. Thus new blood is denied. And Stephano especially is INVITED to most things, his recent qualification into WCS EU is the outlier here, but he gets invites to every Homestory Cup on the back of his past achievements
Homestory is different. Its only about personality. Its for the fans. In fact the very existence and popularity of that tournament flies in the face of your whole argument. You shouldn't agree with its existence even.
New blood is not denied.
If a foreigner comes along good enough to get into WCS, good enough to beat Koreans, they will get a huge fanbase really quickly. If they win premier tournaments consistently? Hello most popular player in SC2.....
No one is being denied. They aren't good enough, pure and simple.

Swarmhost vs JD was a lot more entertaining than vs Patreaus one. Although it didn't work, JD tried something other than SH to counter SH.

Why are people so upset if this would happen? Stephano is obviously massively talented and he does play the game quite a lot. The better player tends to win in a best of five.
