Koreans were generally invited for their skills, and in particular their skill vs other Koreans.
The same applies to some of the foreigners, but there were quite a few who were invited at least partially for their community profile, personality and to some extent convenience. No one expected Incontrol or MoMan to go far. No one (should have) expected Stephano to win. This means that the foreigners are on average of lower skill, and there are quite a few who were destined to leave in the first or at the very latest second group stage.

Whirlwind feels like a great map to take a hidden expo in the top right corner. You know, for old times sake.
Sadly you can't do it behind the mineral line.

While this is true, it's not like we have a massive list of much better non-koreans who sat this one out.. The Koreans on the other hand.... :p

Well those numbers aren't just black and white either. The ro8 could've consisted of 5 foreigners and 3 koreans just as well. Titan, Socke and Dayshi all were 1 map away. They put up a great fight and some players are just there for the fun/personality.
