Somewhat surprisingly, Twitch has worked well enough for me this weekend to keep 3 streams up simultaneously. That never happens.
Probably because half of us were watching Blizzard's stream instead.

This gives him a lot of time to cook up a strat set up to snipe the few Zergs he would have had to play. Jaedong is in a big disadvantage in this scenario. But I guess we'll see what happens when sOs is figured out and whether he'll fizzle out in the future.
But congrats to both players for the gobs of money they earned.
Doubt thats a problem, considering how "volatile" of a player sOs is, theres so little you can actually get from his plays IMO, he cannon rushed JD 2 times in row, who the hell does that and get away with it!, most players would try it 1, or maybe 2 in the same BoX but in back to back games

I"m curious about the warp prism actually... who d you reckon that would be?

what do you expect from people who say, that sos redefined pvz when he used builds, that have been used half a year ago, not that he doesn't deserve the credit for his performance, mind games and execution, but these 3 like to randomly throw hype around them
Hidden base and cannon rush is nowhere near "redefining" PvZ builds. It's just taking tremendous risks that may or may not pay off.
sOs defeated Jaedong because he decided to take the rish and Jaedong was not ready for it. Good for him.
But if your opponent is ready, sOs's build will be torned to shreds and you will look like a moron.
It's just relying too heavily on chances and will never adopted as new meta.

Shouldn't Naniwa be the probe after "that" probe rush?

yeah, i had no problems aswell. thats pretty uncommon
As long as rush, cheese, and all-ins are considered somehow "bad" by us foreign fans, foreigners will never show results because they will try to please fans by not doing whatever it takes to win. "Fuck you fans. I play a boring style, but I win." actually gives the player more money, and I approve it.

how is the beesuit not the DT?!?
Because he didn't fail at DT rushing in the finals of a big tournament 4 games in a row.

Same I'm so turned off from everything starcraft right now. I muted the stream when JD was losing then closed it after the gg. I've never been this invested in a player before. jesus, was such a fairy tale story for JD and then this. fucking crushed hopes to the extreme.

Twitch worked fine for me too. I think it might have something to do with the stream maxing out at "high" quality rather than source. 720p is good enough i guess, and definitely the better idea if it meant no lag (and there wasn't much at all, I was impressed)
On November 10 2013 10:37 moon_fall wrote: Grandfinal between Jaedong and sOs is actually a good example of difference between SC BW and SC2. In BW, "hard skill" like micro and macro are all that matters. Hence a good player will be good throughout his career. SC2, on the other hand, somewhat focuses on "soft skill" like mind-game and building hard counter armies, which is much more dicey. So a legendary player in SC2 will not stay in legend for long.
"Mind-games" also include a lot of luck (he thinks that i think that he thinks etc.), SOS got lucky, but his wins didnt entirely rely on luck, he is a really good player aswell. It could have also gone the other way round.
"Luck"? that was hardly luck, if you see all the games sOs won, he clearly made JD play what he wanted to play, in fact, he made that in the one he lost, but JD took a chance and build mutas
So cannonrushing and going for a zealot immo allin doesnt have a good portion of luck involved? You know that this are risky builds for a reason... Risky means you do something that involves elements that are out of your control for example JD going hatch first, or SOS going nexus first. That is why i said "mindgames"...
then Sc2 its all about luck ? I cant believe that
That is why i said portion not entirely based on luck. Big difference.

Around five minutes ago.
Polt's WCS AM win, Mvp's WCS Europe win.
I think one of the troubles with Protoss is that there's kind of a revolving door when it comes to the best players. We've had a lot of them come out of nowhere, dominate for a little while, and then fade away and not come back. Parting, Squirtle, Seed, and Rain (I'm probably missing someone) all had their moments but haven't shown championship form in a while. Now we have Dear and sOs sitting at the top of the mountain, and who knows how long they'll last? That's a lot of players coming and going over the course of just a couple years. The only real exception to the rule is MC, who had an extended period of dominance and also a great ability to win over fans with showmanship and a willingness to speak as much English as he was able to.
Now look at Terran. Mvp has won championships in 3 different years, and along with Polt and Bomber has been relevant since 2011. MMA is back too, and he's also been around since 2011. MKP had his time and Innovation did too, and Maru is looking great recently, but we're still looking at those first four names in the top 16 players of the year-end tournament even after all this time. It's a stark contrast.
Exactly! Thank you for getting it. Both Polt and Mvp's wins were incredible, and you nailed the situation on the head with the Protoss revolving door thing.

Maybe he didn't win them, but that's still pretty fucking incredible eh?
EDIT: News check for JD fans, he's fine. he's not slumping. just keep having faith, he'll win titles
It is incredible but the most consistent player of the year is Soulkey :D
In the hardest region, where JD struggled to make it in :D
If you imply that JD is not at the level of WCS korea, you should maybe think of the fact that he beat the champions of season 2 and season 3 in his run this weekend
I imply that JD was Code A at most when he moved to WCS AM. As all koreans, he improves fast if he wants.
