Yeah there's no way that sOs' style that has worked since last year will work on a consistent enough basis to let him end Proleague with a good record, win AIMAG and Blizzcon, finish 2nd in WCS Season 1 and reach the semis of WCS Korea. His style just won't work consistently enough.

In other words, Twitch, fix your shit.

In BW, "hard skill" like micro and macro are all that matters. Hence a good player will be good throughout his career. SC2, on the other hand, somewhat focuses on "soft skill" like mind-game and building hard counter armies, which is much more dicey. So a legendary player in SC2 will not stay in legend for long. "Mind-games" also include a lot of luck (he thinks that i think that he thinks etc.), SOS got lucky, but his wins didnt entirely rely on luck, he is a really good player aswell. It could have also gone the other way round. "Luck"? that was hardly luck, if you see all the games sOs won, he clearly made JD play what he wanted to play, in fact, he made that in the one he lost, but JD took a chance and build mutas So cannonrushing and going for a zealot immo allin doesnt have a good portion of luck involved? You know that this are risky builds for a reason... Risky means you do something that involves elements that are out of your control for example JD going hatch first, or SOS going nexus first. That is why i said "mindgames"... then Sc2 its all about luck ? I cant believe that

Jaedong is now the MOST CONSISTENT PLAYER OF 2013. Getting to FIVE FUCKING FINALS IN A YEAR.
Maybe he didn't win them, but that's still pretty fucking incredible eh?
EDIT: News check for JD fans, he's fine. he's not slumping. just keep having faith, he'll win titles It is incredible but the most consistent player of the year is Soulkey :D In the hardest region, where JD struggled to make it in :D
If you imply that JD is not at the level of WCS korea, you should maybe think of the fact that he beat the champions of season 2 and season 3 in his run this weekend

And for the rest of you, this is the current Protoss Pantheon.
Zealot is Reach. DT is Inca Stalker is Anypro Carrier is Hongun Void Ray is Genius Phoenix is Hero HT is Rain Immortal is Parting. Sentry is MC Observor is Creator Cannon is sOs
I'm open to suggestions/changes to the list. personally I would change phoenix to warp prism

I've never been this invested in a player before. jesus, was such a fairy tale story for JD and then this. fucking crushed hopes to the extreme.

Imagine a world where every single tournament and game was won by the player favored to win, with no possibility of comeback or upsets. Now, how is that anything but predictable and boring. And if you guys constantly expect charismatic and fun players over "faceless" and supposedly dull players, SC2 just becomes WWE and the people who poured their hearts and souls into practice and studying the game are overshadowed by people who can speak English better or have funnier costumes. Just no. SC2 should be a celebration of skill and talent just as much as it is a scene of entertainment and fun, and if you feel a "faceless" player doesn't deserve a championship, you can just turn off the stream and not bleed your negativity into the LR thread.
Your argument is off because you're conflating fan favorite with favorite-to-win. While some players are popular with fans, that popularity results in a wish to win, not in some tangible thing that results in that player being favored to win. Example here: Jaedong was not favored to win against Dear, but was certainly the crowd favorite.

WCS KR: ro32 and victory in challenger league bracket + ro16 and victory in challenger league bracket (it's Korea) DH Bucarest: ro8 (beating Jaedong) + two wins in the seeding matches, qualified for DH winter. IEM NY: ro8
Anyone who follows the korean scene knows that sOs is a great player.

Stalker is Hongun for blink micro allins.
HT is parting as well, best in the world at it.
