Zerg may be the worst race in HotS but Life is just amazing. He reminds me of a young Jaedong. Insane aggression and ling use. Also one of the only people who can take out Flash

This is not a good excuse when Flash is at peak age(20-30) of men. if Flash was tired then Life was too.

Also Life's been at this for a much shorter period of time, he might not be as used to this intensity as much as Flash who's been a progamer, but then again Flash didn't really play in many LAN events up until recently (as OSL and MSL tournaments play more sporadically).

Neither did Life. The argument is just silly. Let's leave it at that.

Yeah, that's exactly the problem with mines. Too much randomness, not good for an esports game.

what about bw scarabs, spider mines and goon pathing? I think randomness is great for the spectator aspect. Adds a ton of suspense.

Congratulations to Life, really well played, awesome series and congratulations to Flash, for getting there and beating everyone else in convincing fashion.

Though I would have liked it more if Flash started his SC2 dominance by winning an MLG, this was still a fantastic performance.

Life is truly talented and deserved that win, showing he is a real zerg, witty and adaptable, learning on the fly how to deal with multiple situations, making smart reads and exploiting holes in the armor of his enemies, wherever he saw them.

I hope zergs take note from him and stop whining and just start playing.

You do realized that Life just basically "whined" during his post-interview right? He clearly feels he outplayed and is way better than Flash and he probably experienced playing against way better Terrans. The series should not even be that close.

I realized he did whine, I'm more saying I hope zergs take not of his approach to TvZ and stop saying its impossible to beat terran, when it clearly isn't.

I actually thought Life was the one that looked like he needed a long nap just after game 1. At that point I wouldn't have been surprised to see Flash win 4 straight with how exhausted Life looked. Guess I was wrong though!

but life is like that rather often haha

One of these does not belong, lol?

Pros have been tempted to say that stuff for a long time but they are encouraged to say it when they play foreign tournaments, so they give it to the crowd.

It has an activation time. The units passed by so fast that it went through its range and no particular unit triggered it. Mines are really good and really powerful but they are not the end all unit that was made up to be. What needs to happen is some buffs to things that can stop speedvacs drops and the game would be in a pretty good state of balance.

You don't even know what you are talking about lol. Those mines did donate and hit it just didnt do enough damage.

Well if you don't count Life game, zerg are 3-21 in ZvT in this tournament. And Life barely win against Polt and Last, even if both are really good player, Life has been since the last 6 month of MLG hand down the best player in the world and I think it's fair to say he is a way better player. Furthermore, yes he did win at the end, but a lot of his win was due to the fact that he cleverly exploited the HoTS metagames with his baneling bust timing, it's not going to work as much now it has been shown. It's not lying to say that zerg is a little bit underpowered against terran, I'm not sure if there is real problems in the PvZ match up to be honest, but there is style a lot of room to improve bio mine in terms of timing and the micro/positionning of the widow mine but I really don't see how you can play better that Life did.

Its funny, so much of terran balanced was based around how well MVP could play during the height of his dominance. Meanwhile every other terran in the world at the time was struggling hardcore. It would be ironic if zerg balance revolved around Life in HOTS. One thing is for certain, no zerg matchup overhaul is likely to happen for at least a few more week after life smashed through that stacked mlg!

If MVP didn't win tournaments, another Terran would, thats the biggest difference here, Life doesnt win, it's not another Zerg who will win, actually Zerg wouldnt get anywhere.

Nah. Life is not new JD - he is new sAviOr.

I don't think that's as high of praise as it once was.

In terms of skill and results it is. I'm not saying Life will pull some shit like sAviOr did.

He's nowhere near sAviOr level yet. He technically has to win everything for an entire calendar year to even be considered that. With more tournaments that's kind of hard to do. He is one of the go to guys for playing Zerg though. That's pretty darn good I'd say. Still needs to dominant way more tournaments.

It's physically not possible to dominate every tournament. But after his first GSL championship he won every top tier tournament he entered, sadly with exception of two GSLs. Obviously he is not at the point where sAviOr is where he had 3 MSLs and 1 OSL but even sAviOr - with much more relaxed calendar - failed to qualify to the 2006 Shinhan Bank OnGameNet Starleague Season 2, not to mention three earlier OSLs (each of their finals happened after his first MSL gold). So I'm just saying that kid is goind in the right direction but he isn't there yet.

The mines all actually shot right in middle of the sling cluster, yet like nothing died.

Really think hellbats would've worked better than those mines, they atleast make the zerg consider twice before they send the slings into the meatgrinder. I'm just so confused after those mines, it was like splash was disabled or some shit, they killed so little.

kind of bad. Life is very skilled but he is more micro oriented and does not have the complete concept SC yet. Flash is the better player but let a youngin dictate the pace of the game from the beginning and It seems that Life even intimidates God himself. can you believe that? Well Flash, you are going to have to adjust to Life's agressive all or nothing approach to SC.
Those kind of risk taking players do not last forever and you should not be intimidated by risk taking players with extremely good micro

I'm sure a lot of these games will look a lot different in a few weeks, most of these guys haven't played a lot of HOTS.

Mines are that random at all. You can place them strategically and opponent could use skillful tactic to work around them like Life did. Zerg can also run straight past them with speedlings. It creats really good dynamic for the game.
