Turns out that when somebody can control four drops and macro well, and you can't defend four drops and macro well, you lose!

The faster and more focused player won here - there is no doubt. There is literally nothing that speed medievacs did in this game that would have changed the outcome.

Because it requires absolutely stupid amounts of micro to use the way MVP did.

I seriously doubt the imbalance extends beyond the top tier pros.

Well but that's what it is about, the game has to be balanced around Flash, Rain and Roro.

Now Flash with these medivacs is not balanced.

And you know that how? Are you some kind of oracle who just KNOWS that people wont be able to defend these drops once they learn to deal with it? Btw im considering playing the lottery, can you inbox me the winning numbers please?

Well everyone basically agreed on this after the last rain vs flash games in code A. Sorry I never win a thing and don't play the lottery^^.

"Everyone basically agreed", well that's enough to convince me. The amazingly insightful hivemind called something imba, they must be correct.

Okay let me elaborate. Blizzards argument for the new ability is that drops are figured out and are no longer viable. But they want to see drops so they buffed medivacs. Now Flash showcased that terrans can still dismantle their opponents completely with normal medivac drops if timed correctly and executed by one of the best. So if Rain had no chance defending it without speedboost imagine it in hots. That's what "everyone agreed on" but let's just wait and see and enjoy the games as they are right now. Looking forward to players adapting their drop defense as the tournament goes on.

This would make sense if it was a HoTS terran was play a WoL Protoss. Protoss also got some defensive units/spells to work with.

We get two units that can't attack air, one that comes extremely late in the game, and a spell that adds a 13 range photon cannon. That's really not much extra drop defence.

You got recall...

So you either...
recall against a small drop --> pick up and leave in the 5 second recall stun
recall against a doom drop --> lose army in the 5 seconds recall stun

No!Protoss got nothing, it's all lost, Mvp has shown how broken terran is, nerf it, nerf it NOW, I WANT IT NOW. I want to see Mvp and other korean terrans losing to my bro from texas, NOW.

I think this sums up these ridiculous arguments quite well.

You know, when I become an historian of Starcraft, I think I might link this thread to illustrate why not a single f*ck was given when terrans started to lose everything...

Rain didn't play well these games, it's like you are saying a terran should not ever be able to beat a protoss with drop, wtf?
Rain and Flash were both doing quite bad in proleague (relative to their standards), a protoss more in form could have beaten Flash so what's your point. Two games ain't enough to prove anything anyways.

ya seriously, rain had major 1 hotkey amove syndrome in those games AND fucked up during the first drop which snowballed the whole game

it was simply rain playing bad at that moment in the game. could have happened to anyone

I know right, protoss has the ability to transform any nexus they want into a planetary fortress that shoots air and has more range than a siege tank, which they can instantly recall a large chunk of their army on to if they have the energy for it (which they should). Sure drops got stronger, but don't act like drop defense didn't get stronger too..

The difference, though, is that medivac speed requires no investment from the player while spending energy is a sacrifice.

And blink made no sacrifice while stim took HP off. Should blink have costed HP as well?

Well tbh, you do have to research blink at another building and as far as i know (correct me if i am wrong) medivac boosters are completely free without any research required.
Maybe make it a techlab upgrade or something instead if it has to be nerfed.
