Ret did an all in. It looked like he threw the game cos he took a load of bases instead of just GGing when the all in failed. That was his biggest mistake.

He threw the game. That's unacceptable, period. If anything, he should have forfeited the series instead of playing it and wasting everyone's time and discrediting the scene.

because he doesnt give a shit about this tournament anymore because he is out and thats why bly has to suffer

this is far worse than MLG. At least at MLG nobody has to depend on players who are already out.

I'm not sure Sase doesn't give a shit. He played really well in game 1, and here, when it looked like he couldn't win anymore, he still fought back for a shit ton of time.

Probably just a bad strategy, or he wasn't expecting Feast to just say "fuck it, i have 10 phoenixes in base, let's just go kill him..."

What would have happened if Ret won 2 - 1?

I am not sue but wouldn't have that make him 6-8 in map scores and take 3rd ? The difference between wins and loses would have been 2, like Nani and ForGG but he would have had 6 wins vs them with 5.

While you guys are talking about ret and a game that doesnt matter, sase is doing questionable shit on his meaningless game... I love sase but he should really play serious..

Yeah, Liquipedia is taking away some of Ret's wins for whatever reason.

Source please, and don't use the outdated dreamhack bracket, Apollo, or liquipedia.

One of the thing that contribute to this situation is having the BYOC player playing later than the original 5. This allowed players to know their chances too much. If all matches are played at the same time, I don't think there would as much game throwing.

But why does he have them this early? o.O
Is he playing some kind of phoenix/observer/cloaked units?

he went for the standard ground army with the single carrier and mothership into lose the game

Well that's just fucked up then, rofl.

he's already out, he's not playing seriously

I dont know man I feel really bad for you, your getting effed over but otherwise great games man you work really hard and deserve better than this

tt

He is not getting fucked over. Stop making up stuff to create more drama.

Of course Naniwa adavances as he has the better map score for the games between 3 tied players. Completely normal that naniwa advances. Anything else would mean that someone is getting fucked over.

I'm a huge Naniwa fan and if it was Naniwa not advancing I'd say the same thing, this is the problem with Round Robin groups being played out like this, if theres no initiative for someone to advance then they wont ever play their A game thus giving someone a bit of a lucky advantage. Now specifically I'm not saying this situation alone is screwing NE over if anything it helped him however I feel like the system as a whole needs to take a different approach and account for things like this.

The problem aren't the rules or how hard to understand are or whatever. The problem is the group round robin is bad, specially when you have 6 guys on groups. GSL groups are way better since there is no "whatever" match.

Still Naniwa, Ret would be 2-3 with 4-7 which is worse than ForGG and Naniwa's 2-3 with 5-7, heads up between them would mean Naniwa 2-0's ForGG, still Naniwa, the only way to change things was for Ret to 2-0 and advance, any other result is Naniwa

An LP admin needs to lock that damn page. Too many people are editing it with incorrect information. Somebody put Fraer to 4-6 and eliminated him. WHERE THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN COME FROM?

so they compare map score among only the people who are tied, instead of overall map score? (ie discount the games against ret, thorzain and hero for purposes of the tiebreaker?)

so naniwa 3-2, nightend 3-3, forgg 2-3?

is that how it works?

Naniwa was sure to advance the moment Nightend won one map. If Ret went 2-1 it would be 6-8 against 5-7, which is the same as in -2 mapscore, but Nani beat Ret so wins head to head.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.
