Can tournaments please just release a fucking rulebook? This could be so damn simple but instead we're having these discussions.
I'm confused and I'm going home. Someone else do the wiki. It's the golden rule of SC2 tournaments, make shit as complicated as possible: 1) make sure that no one of the commentators knows the score. 2) make sure there is no central way for people to know the actual score, make them use third sources, such as liquipedia3) make sure the bracket system is impossible to understand. 4) make sure that the calculation of how each player advances is as hard as possible to figure out. Yeah, and here we sit updating liquipedia, creating the best damn circular logic in the universe.

Also, if Snute loses 0-2, he does not advance. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. DH has some wonky rules tbh. Snute advances no matter what since he beat the opponent earlier that he would tie with for third place should he lose 0-2 O_o But again, for DH, mapscore takes precedence over head to head. What we need confirmation on is if DH considers a 6-8 better than a 5-7 in map score, or equal. Both are a 0. After that it goes to head to head. That's the easy fix. If Ret wins 2-0, he goes through due to map score. If Ret wins 2-1, there's a 3 way tie, and internal map score comes into play. Naniwa would be 3-2, ForGG 2-2, Ret 0-4. Naniwa goes through. If Nightend wins 2-1, there's a 2-way tie between Naniwa and ForGG, Naniwa goes through due to head2head. If Nightend wins 2-1, there's a 3 way tie, and internal map score comes into play. Naniwa would be 3-2, ForGG 2-3, Nightend 3-3. Naniwa goes through.
Edit: This means ForGG is out. So is Nightend.

Then it's internal mapscore within the tie.
Nani 3-2 NE 3-3 ForGG 2-3

Ok. Go go Ret! 2-0

Snute is through even if he loses 0-2 to fraer right? Snute has 5-5 at the moment, thestc has 6-8. If snute loses 0-2 he gets 5-7, which leaves -2 in map score, the same as thestc, but snute beat thestc. Or does stc go through because he has won more maps?

Although this is all slightly amusing, it's pretty bad casters aren't fully informed on how tiebreakers work for the tournament they're casting. Whether this is on the casters or on the tournament I don't know. I hope the DH/ESL/MLG partnership will take a look at tiebreaker rules and unify them and release them publicly.

This is what we've arguing about the past 3 pages, we don't know the exact format but it's either 1 of the 2 you said

It felt like HerO threw the game pretty hard. He went for a immortal sentry all-in with 5 sentries and like 4 gateways lol. Kind of funny considering the game before he did a proper immortal sentry all-in

DH go first by map score. 6-8 is better than 5-7, so snute is out and STC is through.
