Pretty sure that for Dreamhack a 6-8 score is better than a 5-7 score and mapscore takes precedence over head to head. Meaning that if Ret wins 2-0 OR 2-1 he goes through over Naniwa.

Also, if Snute loses 0-2, he does not advance. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. DH has some wonky rules tbh.

Snute advances no matter what since he beat the opponent earlier that he would tie with for third place should he lose 0-2 O_o

Fraer vs Snute is a bizarre situation now.

If they tie it up at 1-1 they both go through, if there's a 2-0 the loser goes out on Mapscore to STC

No, if Snute loses 0-2, he and StC are both -2 and Snute takes the head-head. Percentage doesn't matter.

But Map wins take priority, right?
6-8 and 5-7 is the same "goal difference" (football term) then it's usually taken by "goals scored"

sooo if mapscore => head-to-head (confirmation plz), then:

Ret 2-0 Nightend

Ret advances on mapscore

Ret 2-1 Nightend

Naniwa advances on head-to-head score over Ret

Nightend 2-1 Ret
Ret goes 5-9, Nightend goes 5-8
Naniwa advances on mapscore

Nightend 2-0 Ret
Ret goes 4-9, Nightend goes 5-7
Nightend advances on head-to-head score over Naniwa

...I think

I think is more like: 3-way tie > mapscores tied > Forgg is out because is the only 0-2 in the tie > {NE>Nani}

I might be wrong though

yeah I realised & edited, Nightend winning 2-0 means Nani advances, so Nightend is already out

There's no situation where Snute doesn't advance I think tho.

If snute loses 0-2 he is out.

Why? He's tied 2-3 with TheStC with equal map score, but he beat him earlier.

The world implodes.

If he really said that then I think that's an improvement and should be seen as a good thing for Naniwa.

It's better to only say gg. Talking about how bad he is playing today makes him seem like a drama queen.

Well, I just have to say this.

Can tournaments please just release a fucking rulebook? This could be so damn simple but instead we're having these discussions.

I'm confused and I'm going home. Someone else do the wiki.

A 3 total tie, since nani beat forgg, forgg beat nightend, and nightend beat naniwa.

So i guess they will do some RPS as tiebreaker. A protoss shall pass.

But again, for DH, mapscore takes precedence over head to head.

What we need confirmation on is if DH considers a 6-8 better than a 5-7 in map score, or equal.

Ret advances over Nani if he wins 2-1?

sooo 6-8 > 5-7 despite Nani winning head-to-head... kinda dumb imo if Apollo is right

Both are a -2. After that it goes to head to head. That's the easy fix.

If this is true then my original statement about Snute/Fraer is right.. It's basically the Football (soccer for the uneducated) way of doing the scores if the scores end up equal

yes

it's only between Nani and Ret
