well there's the tear/gumi/leenock trio, and two of asd/thebest/choya/lucky/sirius/jks/etc seems pretty decent :o

That's how I feel too. TSL is so Zerg centric haha. Expecting 5-4 in FXO's favor

It's ok because I always cheer for FXO. I believe in you guys!!!! <3 Harness power of SKT's FBB go go ggnore!
glad you've found a team to support in sc2 (aside from SKT :D)
Tis true. I've been a huge fan of Leenock since his first MLG run. He's so fun to watch. But yeah it's nice ot have an ESF tema and a Kespa team to cheer for. I also love how much FXO participates in forums on TL. It makes them family.
Inori vs Choya starter? This could get interesting Choya is Choya and Inori kinda sucks in the Booth but he actually has pretty decent PvP in online tourneys. I like both teams but I like TSL more so gogogo TSL^^ but with these two lineups it could get really interesting.
I think TSL got this one seeing as imo they have the more consistent players and slightly better on the results/skill level. Expect it to be fairly close, but I think TSL will win 5-3.
This is completely unrelated, but if you watch game 2 of Taeja vs Life Ro3, you can see Life start laughing when Taeja accidentally lowers the supply depot.

Let's be honest here - if TSL had a half-decent Protoss he'd never get picked.
Luckily for him, he's up against lolChoya, so it's basically a coin flip as he tries to figure out what ridiculous strategy he's up against.

Going 7-3 against mid-level foreigners isn't really all that special.

These online team league have always been B-team excursions, FXO seems to send B-teamers all the time and if the shit hits the fan send out gumiho. Imo gumiho is the ace of FXO he seems more reliable and succesful in team league than leenock.

in all kill format, what happens is: each team sends one one player. they play a bo1 the winner of the bo1 stays in the booth, the other player returns to the bench. then the other team sends another. winner of that bo1 stays in the booth, losing team sends out another player keeps on going, until one team reaches five wins
choya is the starting player of FXO, while inori is TSL's starting player

He will fill in the roster when it shows who is in the studio. in an all kill format you play until you lose so all we know for sure right now is the starting player for each team

Not mithout mistakes by Choya (and Inori as well), but a solid game. And a clever strat, going for both DT's and expand. Either he moves out and you DT's do a lot of damage, or he doesn't and he'll be a bit behind with his expo. That defence with stalkers and probes basically won Choya the game, or at least gave him a huge advantage.
I didn't catch the start of the game, but I saw Choya was ahead 12 probes. which at that stage if you manage to get an expansion, you pretty much win cause of the lead you had, Inori played well to try and catch up.

Blink vs DT + delayed blink. DTs hit inori's main when inori tried to attack choya. choya held inori's attack leading to the worker count difference

Ok the reason he did that was because he had no buffer for his collys and if he keeps them spread out then they die rapidly to chargelots. Did you not see him lose 10 stlakers 1 min before the final battle?

He should be excited. He knew that by defeating inori tsl would either have to take their chances with a weak player, or send out a better player who fxo could of course snipe. In addition Choya constantly gets mocked for sending out himself in team leagues, but this proves that he is still valuable as a player.

He had at least 10-15 zealots to buffer. Yes I saw him lose the stalkers that's why I said he probably wouldn't have won either way. I guarantee the battle at least goes better than it did in that game if he spreads out a bunch even if he still doesn't win it.

Inori got top 8 in both MLG Spring Arena 2 and MLG Spring Championship.
Yeah but bashing foriegners aint bo GSL :/
The guy followed up a win over stephano by losing to idra, make of it what you will.
Yeah I suppose onlince he seems pretty decent aswell just in GSL booth he fails so hard I want him to suceed because It would be amazing to watch his happines if he finally got sucess in GSTL or Gsl would be amazing.
He hasn't won a game in the gsl in 2 years, what do you think his mentality is like at this point? A mental block doesn't even come close to describe it lol

Korean hipsters who follow the ESV weeklies knows thebest has been playing much better recently and is definitely a solid terran who can compete in code A and GSTL at least.

The decision by Choya to push against ling/infestor with no collosi or storm cost him the game. It was pretty even till that point, but it snowballed after that.
So they chose their fifth man to be choya, the asd/lucky/thebest 4th choice for asd so it's now tear, leenock and gumiho from here for FXO. TSL have shut out one of revival or shine as polt and symbol will come out and with ragnarok and inori are already out.

One of tear, gumiho or leenock will not go out given that gumiho and tear are best vZ leaving those two out in the cold is strange I guess leenock may be skipped out today.

I guess hedging on leenock's ZvZ which isn't his forefront MU agains the zergfest TSL may mean he'll be overlooked today and let gumiho and tear vZ try to carry them the real issue would be polt gumiho is certainly a match for polt if you watched their matches in the RO32 I think it'll go tear then gumiho now.

I don't understand why they didn't send in Leenock unless he is really uncomfortable with his ZvZ.
I wonder if Gumiho having that long game vs BboongBboong yesterday in Code A means he won't play today?

Just checked his TLPD and it looks like you're right. I don't know why I thought he had really weak ZvZ. Might just be a bad impression left over from a bad game or 2 I guess.

Fair enough I forgot about that =), did he have any real ZvT's in that run though. I think he played against Coca and Miya or something and although Coca is good I think Gumiho just 2 raxed him
I don't understand why they didn't send in Leenock unless he is really uncomfortable with his ZvZ.
I wonder if Gumiho having that long game vs BboongBboong yesterday in Code A means he won't play today?
quite obvious. Gumiho barely beat B4 yesterday (yeah B4 had the better first half of every game before he derped) while Symbol/Hyun is 46x better and Lagnalok is on steroid

That's going a bit far. Gumiho still took 3 games of Hyun in a map-pool that includes metropolis and atlantis. His TvZ may be a bit gimmicky but it's still respectable.

Well it's probably a concious decision. Maybe players are feeling a little off on that day and have requested someone else be sent out instead of them. It's a good way to give the lesser known players a little more exposure, which as demonstrated by LG_IM will definitely pay off in the long term.

Poor GuMiHo. He said in his interview yesterday that he's had a lot of pressure since his GSTL all-kill in the finals, and now he's being forced to do it again lol
Yeah, tiring out is stupid. Giving people a chance to go on a streak by slowly going from weak to stronger players is a huuuuge mistake. By now, everyone should know that streaks is the most important thing in the all-kill format.

Everyone should know that tiring out players doesn't work after Symbol reverse all-killed IM, that pretty much stomped that myth. It just gives people momentum to keep feeding them lesser players

Depends on the player, you can exhause some aces but gumiho is a player who will benefit from chewing on B-teamers.

Most times when you see someone try to "tire" someone out, is really just looking at the games to try to find a weakness, for example right now I wouldn't be suprised for it to be symbol (to make gumiho show his entire game), shine then hyun with hyun looking specifically for holes in gumiho's play.

You shouldn't say anything, gumiho forgot siege when going mech and lost his entire army. Everything that happened after that is gonna be colored by something like that, you don't just rebuild mech armies
and symbol defended poorly against banshees, had his tech reset, was on 1-2 mining bases less than gumiho. Whatever, we all know infested terrans and broodlings are ridiculous when both players are low on mining and armys are not maxed.

Yeah but given the amount of banshees that gumiho went through, it's alot of resource that don't shoot air. Also don't really think Symbol lost many drones to hellions - Gumiho didn't really do any runbys afaik - considering it was vs mech where losing 40+ is pretty typical really.
Anyway. Gumiho losing his entire army when Symbol lost his hive was pretty big, and basically the turn point of the game.

Nah, they just need to make ghosts slightly better vs t3 zerg (not as good as pre snipe nerf of course). Sure, ghosts are great vs infestors with EMPs but it has such high risk since your ghosts have to be in the front line.

Seemed Like Gumiho made some critical errors, his army was out of position many times, he forgot siege tech and his composition wasn't ideal. I feel that symbol didn't play brilliantly but it wasn't like gumiho played masterfully. Gumiho made the biggest mistakes and therefore he lost.
People saying "infestors are good" or "zerg is imba" just don't have a very good understanding of the game.

I am talking from the perspective of a Protoss player. I used to love watching TvZ and now i just don't, and the same is true of PvZ. I am not saying it is imbalanced, i am saying it is boring.

It just bugs me that as soon as a terran loses everyone just screams that infestors are overpowered. It doesn't make any sense and a lot of diamond terrans just shout imbalanced to make up for the fact that they aren't playing very well

True. But most maps has been catering to late game. 3 bases is a given unless someone does an all-in. And even fourths are pretty easy to defend. Funny thing is, I think terrans actually have a slight advantage in the 'super' late game if they can turtle on 5 bases ala Metropolis.

Yes, because you need a pretty error free mid game to even have a chance to reach that stage. Plus terrans are so used to having to be the aggressors that it is hard to just make this adjustment for one map.

At your cap again? Thank you very much for all the work you always put into these threads!

Hmmmm apparently Taeja doesn't have a very good understanding of the game.....

I can understand not wanting to field Leenock because of his ZvZ and TSL's strong Zerg lineup. But even if that is the case it probably would have made more sense to send Gumiho now, hope he cleans up enough of their zergs that he either A) takes it or B) pushes them to their ace who, hopefully, won't be a zerg, in which case they field Leenock as their own ace.
His ZvZ? As far as i know Leenock is strongest in ZvZ.
Just checked his TLPD and it looks like you're right. I don't know why I thought he had really weak ZvZ. Might just be a bad impression left over from a bad game or 2 I guess.
In that case, this makes even less sense.
No, Leenock's ZvZ is really bad in the sense that it is inconsistent. His ZvP is his strongest matchup at the moment.
Now I didn't watch the games, but did Gumiho REALLy forget siege? Lately I've been seeing a lot of tvz where the meching terran would get siege really stupidly late. Like.. so often that I figured it was intended, I'm just assuming this is one of those cases. Am I wrong? (likely am, but just was I noticed recently)

Yeah, he did forget it. He also had a hellion/banshee moveout that was stupidly good, microed really well but he forgot to add production behind it. Then suiciding a ton of banshees to corruptors, not switching into vikings early enough... It just seemed off to me.

That game between Gumiho and Symbol was great, but it was really shocking how extremely delayed Gumiho's response to the broodlords was. He def could have had that game.
Every time I watch a TvZ, and I'm excited to see good ways for Zerg to deal with mech, it seems like the meching player wins or they make such colossal errors that the game isn't representative of a normal TvZ mech game. That said, Symbol vs. Gumiho was a really fun game to watch, I love how scrappy Gumiho is. You can never assume that just because he's at 40 supply at 25:00 that he's out of the game.
Really disappointing loss. Glad to see Ragnarok shine (no pun intended), he's been on TSL forever and never really done anything. I love seeing players like that do awesome, like Seed, YongHwa et al.
