Okay people. All this "Elephant" talk is just plain stupid. It's pretty simple that the KESPA player would do well early.

Their opponents have a ton of games they can research which the opponents do not have the same luxury.

Lets give this a month or so and then you can put up the elephant in the room jokes. Remember when foreigners were beating Koreans in SC2 about a year ago? Yeah, now look at it. Swung back the other way.

I'm so fucking sick of these threads. So disgusting everytime a Kespa player wins the troll baiters come out to play. Just fucking cheer for your players you like without insulting literally every player that people who havnt watched much or any BW have followed for 2 years. It is ridiculously disrespectful. I really hope this goes the way of the USA Stephano chants considering how mods looked at that joke.

The irony is of course that the guys rooting for Kespa are also acknowledging the play by GSL. The GSL fans are saying things like "wow GSL player X plays so bad".

I do think people are overstating the mistakes of the GSL players to some degree (I admit some of the mistakes are pretty bad) as when we watch these match ups, I think the players go under a bit more scrutiny than if they were just playing their GSL peers. Kespa has caught up to the standard level of the GOM pros now. Champion level? Probably not, but maybe soon. These guys were disappointing just a month ago, and now they are just total ballers. Kind of nuts.

Are you surprised?

If you asked me 3 months ago, I would say no. But after seeing some disappointing play in SPL, I can say I am indeed surprised at how fast they caught up. I thought something like beating DRG and then Gumiho back to back would happen about 2-3 months from now (basically beginning 2013). Very impressed. These guys are talented.

I can't tell you how many TvZs ive seen end with the Terran dying because he went for a greedy FE build and the Zerg went for an early build.

You hardly ever saw that in SC2 up until recently, it was a dynamic that's only now become prominent in the metagame. Terrans gotta watch out for that shit, don't just assume every Zerg is gonna 15 hatch you.

It still happens in sc2, just fails most of the time

I know, because only recently has it become more common for Terrans to go for 1 rax expands before second depot or CC first builds in the match up. Prior to the queen change, nearly every Terran opening involved an early wall off, which is why 15 hatching became so dominant.

With the shift in the metagame to more greedy openings from terrans and the Zerg counter of early pool builds, the early game TvZ in SC2 now more closely resembles the one from BW.

Remember that 6 pool vs mkps 14 cc?

Umm thats not the reason we knew they would do well. When SC2 came out all those that couldnt cut it in BW switched over and one A-team called MVP. Those that switched over have been able to dominate the scene. So obviously skill sets transferred over for the most part. So once the switch was announced just based on who was on top in SC2, made it pretty clear that the best BW players will eventually be on top in SC2. The only question is how long, how much practice it is going to take until they figure out the game because once they do their superior multitasking and the speed at which they think their way through games will carry them to the top, just like in BW.

Of course I do.

Apparently you counter it by floating to the 4th base of your opponent and make a bunker there.

Again though, that only happened like two weeks ago.

I don't think you understand who Kespa players are

Foreigners of a year ago = GOM players of now.
Koreans of a year ago = Kespa players of now.

So yeah sure, let's give it a month or two.

I don't recall anytime foreigners beating Koreans consistantly.

Cuz the Kespa players have better mechanics than the GSL players, whereas the foreigners have worse mechanics than GSL players. Just look at how Hero held that 4 gate by tails.

I really hate it when people simplify Kespa players as being better simply because of mechanics.

Did he even say that they are better ''simply because'' of mechanics? He just emphasized it, but nowhere did he say that was the only reason

jaedong v genius is the ultimate elephant test

calling it now there should be 0% chance of jaedong winning this one. genius was DRGs practice partner during DRG's god period and is a beta veteran who isnt slumping

jaedong has a ZERO PERCENT CHANCE
