most anticipated match of the day for me coming up. Wonder if Yoda is still a padawan or not. Supernova is a good test though.

He's like that boss you encounter about midway through a video game that serves as a prologue to the game's more difficult aspect. The guy who finally gives you consecutive game overs.

3-3-3 Carriers (a lot of them, not so few like Creator had) with HT support wrecks almost everything if microed correctly, and i don't think it would've been different here.

Curious played this game pretty well, but it was boring as hell...

Because unlike Broodlords, Carriers can hit ground AND air. Apparently they also have the highest DPS in the game.

I really don't mind it. I thought it was boring when it first came out, but it's pretty balanced and the layout of nat to 4th just flows really well. The 5th is hard to take, but an easy 5th would make the map too much like Metropolis and end up with too turtley games.

And it's not the map which caused that last game to be turtley, it's just a natural aspect of late game PvZ that makes it that way.

Blizzard unfortunately doesn't think so. They've totally done nothing with it since the beta.

Blizzard have tweaked so much with the balance of basically everything except carriers. No changes at all until removal in HOTS. They didn't even try to make them work.


Still protoss is strong nowadays, so not buff carriers is the correct decision.

lol He could have straight transition into carriers/archons/templars/mothership much faster but he did not and CHOSE T GO VOID RAYS FIRST????

Creator had an advantage but Curious was more patient and outplayed him in the end although Creator mistakes and huge choking cost him that but wp by Curious.

Imagine being ale to make 15 carriers at once, but only needing a single stargate as opposed to 2250/2250 on 15 stargates

I enjoy watching endgame situations most, where build orders are no longer relevant and positioning and clever moves decides the outcome. That game really showed how much better Curious played than Creator.

I generally enjoy that as well, but if there is no excitement due to one player in an impossible situation and refusing to accept that forever and ever, it feels more like falling down the stairs

It's not like they're strong because of carriers though. A buff which makes a unit more viable without making the race too strong can only be for the good.

I really dislike Ohana as well. Only 5 bases per player, such short distances and hard to defend bases. It reminds me of early season maps... Korhal Compound was a better with similar design and while it had some of the same problems, it was still worth playing on. The only reason GSL is using it in the pool is because the OSL map pool includes it, so all the players need practice on the map.
