Well all-ining several times in a row usually works for MC, so nobody can really blame him for what. It would be weird to not play the style you are most comfortable and had most succes with, but as Bly said, Nerchio is just so good at defending them and does never hesitate to basetrade or something.
I don't understand why Zergs don't just practice against all-ins. It's pretty much the only way people play high level PvZ, so why bother practising macro strats? Barely any Protoss players macro against Zerg because it's a lost cause. Just train against 2base all-ins and you'll be fine.
I mean, it doesn't matter how many times you keep saying it, that really isn't true. I'm not sure how much starcraft you've been watching over the past several months, but the matchup has well and truly evolved beyond just 2base play, and going into macro games vs zerg isn't a lost cause by any means.

Send MVP, send MC, send Hero, you can send whoever you want.
just one word : YongHwa
Nerchio win 2:1 already vs him at HSC .. so why you write YongHwa , can you explain ?
Because the series was close and yongHwa has showna rather solid late game so far at this tournament, something MC didn't seem to want to get involved in. I'd give him a good chance at winning.
Yes its true.. , but Nerchio beat him already , and now after win vs MC nerchio must have really strong mind set for next games.

Random nobody?
Nerdchio is the best EU Zerg other than Stephano.
Well with this win he maybe took the spot as best foreigner zerg. If he takes the tournament, I will call him current best foreigner zerg.
I don't think you can call someone the best foreigner zerg because of one tournament result, Stephano constantly posts consistently better results than Nerchio in big tournaments. Nerchio would have to win a couple more things before he could stake that claim.
From your point of view, which is judging current skill from tournaments which happened in the last 6 months, I agree. But my point of view is that SC2 is very very volatile and that only less than a month results matter. It's a recent change in my mind, but check MVP, he was top a month ago & this month he's average.
Actually, it seems only results 1 hour ago makes a difference. If DRG loses one match on ladder today, the best player gets passed to whoever beats him...

Think MC thought he could do the same this time, so ended up playing pretty badly thinking he could still win with the strats he used today. Pretty disappointing series. Yongwha must now carry the torch and win home story!
Nerchio got better, and he prepared vs. MC. Nerchio is a preparer; in these games, he played different strategies every game, and MC was not able to meta-game him, which gave him the victory.

I was more criticizing the train of thought of the ppl complaining about the patch rather than MC all-inning :p

It's a fact. I watch every major tournament and follow a lot of notable Korean streams. When you're up against a top tier Zerg, you usually all-in. It's just the safest way to play.

Meh, the only thing this series should convince anyone of is that MC has his down days. He played too poorly for this to reflect too greatly on Nerchio, although his reactions to MC's mistakes were certainly proficient.
Oh great here we go again foreigner beats a top korean, korean played poorly
stop that bs please
So youre saying he didnt? Mc lost with some pretty silly allins and barely won after holding an 8 pool while taking no damage. He didnt play well, I dont see how one can even argue this..
Im still confused by MCs play, is he so afraid of playing macro against zergs?
And yeah, nerchio played that well but the last game was a buildorder win which is always lucky to some degree, why cant some people just accept this?
Lets see how Yongwa does :/
Dude, MC has always played like this. It works most of the time but when it doesn't people call it "horrible play" but when it does everybody's like "MC is the best protoss!!!! yadayadayada!". MC played as well as he could but was completely shut down.

only bad protoss blame the patch. good protoss will say the queen buff really only effects 1 base allins, and FFE into 4 gate pressure. Which sucks, but patch didn't affect pvz lategame. That's been broken in all MU's for a while

He basically just beat the most succesful protoss in the world, when you work so hard, so much practice etc and it pays off maybe he finds it hard not to smile?
I remember reading an interview where nerchio says he thought he was on a similar/same level as stephano.
You misunderstand, I don't say it was bad for him to be happy and show it, but this smile, it looked so much like he was making fun of MC so badly. I've nothing against him, just to say I wouldn't be too happy if I just lost and saw my opponent showing this kind teasing smile. I wouldn't blame my opponent but still it would make me a bit angry inside.
Maybe MC made fun of him off camera before the match, so you never know.

why? jet lag, bad luck, too much luck for the opponent, but never ever the opponent was simply better this time, this is what I've deducted so far from the posts in this thread.
