EG curse never fails.

I just want to say that maybe you have a point in saying that MaNa has more talent than Thorzain. But around that time that Thorzain was in discussion to join EG, MaNa had just stated that he was going to take a year off from studies and compete full-time. And if you look at MaNa's track record around that time Thorzains statement makes perfect sense...

Not to defend my countrymen but flying from the states to korea and competing the day after in GSL and that flying to sweden to compete in a open bracket DHS is pretty damn hard. I feel that this is good experience for Thorzain and he will pick his fights from now on, like other much more experienced pros are doing. Conditioning is as important in gaming as other sports imo. So is experience and wisdom.

I don't wanna be BM, but before thorzain won DH, mana was far more acomplished than thorzain. One online tournament victory doesnt beat several big lan tournament second places that MaNa had,
Other thing is that thorzain was super hyped compared to mana because he won tsl3

Exactly. Not saying that ThorZaIN is overrated, but compared to MaNa, he is.

Uh, guys, ThorZaiN actually came out of nowhere in TSL3 to play the world's strongest TvP in ro8 (MinChul), one of the best TvTs EVER (Kas, ro4) and an epic finals with strats and twists and turns and a huuuuuuuge comeback.

MaNa may have been accomplished, but quite literally all achievements of foreign players paled in comparison to ThorZain's gameplay in TSL3 at the time.

This is a silly discussion though. I am sure a major factor in Marcus' decision to go to EG was the option of relocating to Korea, live with the SlayerS and play GSTL.

TSL is an online tournament. How is that bigger than anything else? Plus, Naniwa should have won that series (if it weren't for the lag and Chill not leaving the game at once, he probably would have). He was the better player at the time, and still is.

I do not think they are out yet, if they are, you have to go to Dreamhack homepage.

TSL was easily the biggest thing at the time because it was the first time that a strong line-up of koreans competed with the foreign "elite." Thorzain knocked out several great Koreans, MC among them at EU latency and MC was considered the best player in the world at the time. That was a ridiculous showing so please stop trying to discredit him.

Funny how thorzain played ace whenever the match was important, I guess mouz don't agree.

I'm pretty sure Thorzain knows this himself. I'm also pretty sure that if he was serious (which is presumably the case) about his career and GSL/Korea and if it was up to him, he wouldn't have flown in a day before his games and he wouldn't have flown out right after.

I hope that he gets to pick his flights and decide on his schedule, but somehow I doubt that will be the case in a foreign team where players' main purpose is to be a marketing vessel and keep showing up in places where a lot of eyes and cameras will be on them and their shirts.

And before someone takes this as a dig at EG specifically, right now I have the same opinion about most other foreign teams, including Liquid. That said, Mouz does seem to treat their players the best right now when it comes to scheduling and allowing them time to train, prepare, attend school etc.

the problem is, which tournament should he have skipped?
-MLG Anaheim? It was the most hyped tournament this year. And skipping that wouldn't give him much more time.
-GSL? Nope, he accepted his code S spot, so he has to be there and also even when he fails there, he will still remain in code A and that is good for him, as he will spend much time in Korea after dreamhack.
-the Swedish tournament? Nope, and good that he didn't, as he got 1st place there and won 10'000 $ while playing for dreamhack at nearly the same time.
-Dreamhack? not a good idea, as he is already in sweden and when he plays there for the Swedish tournament, he can also play in dreamhack. And because he wanted to defend his Title.

so which tournament should he have skipped? pretty hard decision.

What tournament was this?

here is the link. i only knew about this tournament from the fanclub. It's not really the best player lineups, but 10'000 $ is worth fighting for

Yeah take that Thorzain you traitor I'm sure he'll be crying himself to sleep given that he is going home from dreamhack with nearly the same prize money that MaNa is.

And a bigger contract as well

Why are people making it sounds like there's bad blood between Mana and Thorzain? Knowing them, they're probably congratulating each other on their tournament wins this weekend.

Can someone source where Thorzain said he was the best player and didn't have anyone to compete with, this is the first time Ive heard it and its from someone who obviously has some kind of vendetta against Thorzain and EG. Thanks.

That's a bit far on the slippery slope. It would mean Protoss would have to scout an all-in ahead of time instead of mostly relying on having a sentry behind buildings to forcefield. The forcefields will still help slow down the attack and funnel the units for easy pick offs. Then it would be up to the Protoss to make sure the forcefields and buildings absorb the brunt of the baneling damage, and then use their units to kill the remaining follow ups.
