This guy never seems to stop impressing me. Harstem is a 17yr old dutch protoss player playing for Team Mousecontrol He is arguably the third best dutch player (right behind Grubby and Ret). His best matchup is PvP, closely followed by PvT. His PvZ used to suck, but he improved alot. He casted some Go4SC2 Cups with Rotterdam, barely missed to qualify for IEM Sao Paolo, played in all of the Grubbys Pro invitationals etc If you followed the scene closely, you knew he will have his breakout soon. I announced it in the "breakout players outlook for 2012" article already Guys got talent! Thanks! I really never watch Go4SC2 cups :/ I can usually predict who will do well in the future but i've never seen this guy before. Fortunately, i won't miss him again now Well, I am like his biggest and first fanboy, so you shouldn't take everything I say as serious as its written down I have to say, it's great to see someone watching out for up and coming talent, and see a fanboy for one of the lesser known players (not Stephano/Naniwa/MKP/DRG etc).
There are reasons to think he's not his only fanboy (but the first ;p), maybe he should make a fanclub for him so more people will know him !

Three, just two koreans.

And there's literally one North American that can compete with most Europeans (Huk) on a regular basis.

Does Taeja have strong TvP? I can't seem to remember any games he played recently vs P.

LOL we'll see we'll see. Hero was playing bad in Code S, I'll give you that. But overrated in PvZ? I suppose you haven't seen like... any games of him at all ever. Stephano is not favored against Hero. Not by any means.

great job on the non korean players sniping the koreans at dreamhack. Its nice to see that a lot of the top finishers of dreamhack aren't going to be like, 90% korean. I know there weren't a ton of top koreans at this tourney, but come on. Hero? PuMa? TaeJa? pretty good players guys

Yup and they both happen to be on the same team.... Or should I say the greatest team?
And one of them hasn't dropped a game yet. HerO fighting!!!!!!!

Are you serious? It's an objective observation. With the exception of Puma and JYP, none of the Koreans who lost got upset by much. There are relatively few Koreans at this event and many of them are on foreign teams and not even in the GSL. Not a single GSL quality Korean Zerg is there. Many of the Koreans who frequent foreign tournaments are absent, MC, Leenock, Polt, etc. The Koreans who you would expect to blow through the tournament are, Keen, HerO and Taeja.
The people acting like this is some huge blow to the Korean SC2 scene's strength are just embarrassing.

On the same greatest team?

Hope stephano can beat Huk because morrow is going to crush him TvZ.

None of the players left are favoured against Stephano. Hell, I doubt Stephano will lose a match in his group, and it's a pretty stacked group for this tournament. Eh? Nerchio would be favoured against Stephano, but Nerchio's PvZ is too weak to overcome this amount of protoss left. Your giving Nerchio too much credit, he always says he will lose to Stephano. He wins in ladder games but not where it counts, he even said it himself. I think their ZvZ is pretty even from a viewers standpoint.
stephano lost to zyktomini and stated that it was his first zvz in the last 2 weeks he played. i dont know man, id give nerchio an edge.
btw - im loving european players obviously and i also think that the skillgap to koreans isnt that high for the eu scene, but hell, wtf about that "lol only 3 koreans left"
what notable koreans came anyway? Daisy and Dragon are not rly notable koreans ("yet" i have to say for Daisy)
- HerO: still in it - Taeja: still in it - Keen: still in it - PuMa: surprisingly out - JYP: doesnt show great performances lately. still too early for him to be out (stage 2).
1 1/2 korean upsets - its not THAT much.
on the other hand, i dont see the 3 koreans left as incredibly outstanding or untouchable as it was months ago. Stephano, Naniwa, SaSe, Nerchio, Titan, Ret, Slivko, MorroW, Fraer and more all have very good chances against them now. Yes, we talk about some of the best europeans, but its still quite amazing!
I dont think MLGs would be as 1 sided if you would replace the number of NA players with EU players honestly.

Personally the lack of all Koreans make the whole tournament more exciting for me. The quality of games might not be as high as MLG or GSL but not seeing the same top 15 as every other tournament is refreshing.

One of his last PvT was in the Redbull lan, where he lost 2-0 to SaSe, but he did defeat CreatorPrime 5-3 in IPL fight club.

Can only presume this is sarcasm as realistically Stephano is going to faceroll HuK and Morrow.

So Stephano and SaSe aren't top europeans? Arguably top 5?
He said foreigners, not europeans, so his comment was stupid. I never said NA players were good lol
