Please have some respect for the players, teams, and tournament. Criticism is fine, criticism without anything to back it up isn't so cool. Thanks! |

So Thorzain's out? Damn, not a good showing for him this MLG. I figure the best result he put up was 2-0'ing MC, then basically getting pummeled by everyone else

My point in that being is how does someone justify being a "progamer" in the US? Even most of the top NA players are canadian which has a more generous social program. You either have to be insanely talented enough that 3-4 hours a day of practice is enough to be good enough to profit or you have to have someone willing to fund your ability to practice 8-10 horus a day like koreans do. I'm in the US and I'm in university and work 2 jobs and I'm not saying if I could play 10 hours a day I'd be a top progamer but i'd certainly be a lot better. I'm pretty sure South Korea doesn't have a very bright welfare system. But they do have one advantage over the US which is proximity. The US is a much larger country than korea, and most of the SC scene is focused around Seoul. This means you're more likely to find 9 other people willing to live in a small cramped apartment who can all play SC for 8+ hours a day in a team house. Forming a team house in the US isn't impossible but I would argue it's harder. As to why brood war has become a successful "sport" in korea you'd have to answer that for me because I wasn't watching the BW scene at that time, I was busy being a dumb teenager. I would have to do more research but I would believe the level of play generally improved as people were able to spend more time playing. EG has a teamhouse, but one could argue the results produced have been fairly underwhelming so far.
Sorry, but many teamhouses don't mean crap.

Is it over? Am I too late?

Puma just crushed Sockes army. Very close game now, 4base vs 4base.

Hope you guys enjoy tomorrow, and I hope I get home in time to catch the finals!

Good stuff, team Light making a good run this MLG. Too bad Golden had to team kill to get here.

I don't know if this is just my imagination but nearly always when I see Grubby playing a bo3 I see him playing one fantastic map, one mediocre and an absolute trainwreck. But well he is a fighter I hope he can get his tournament win this year.
Naniwa is playing SC2 much longer then Grubby. Grubby is only playing SC2 for a year basically.

Thats because you dont include people like haypro, jinro, desrow, etc as korean even though they are in the same situation >.> only when huk wins he's korean :D

Just because both played Wc3 does not mean they need to be equally good at sc2, what kind of logic is that?

He lost to Ganzi, MKP, Sase, and Crazymoving before losing to Golden.
There isn't a one among them I'm surprised that he lost to except maybe golden and that's only because I don't know him well. His series with Sase was also really close.

Great day of entertainment, grats to all the advancing players and thanks to all the people for entertainment. ♥

Puma ahead now. Too good in the big engagements.

PUMA! That was a damn sexy engagement, nobody can deny that he doesn't rely on the 1/1/1 to take games, his army control is fantastic
