Please have some respect for the players, teams, and tournament.
Criticism is fine, criticism without anything to back it up isn't so cool.
Thanks!

I am always baffled at the lack of knowledge and game understanding displayed at every single one of these threads.
Sometimes I think it's just a way to vent and piss off players of other races by posting provocative, baseless and senseless things and counting on their reaction to tilt them irl or something.
And to think, that poll "which league are you in" showed that the most of TL posters are in the master league.. .
You can no more evade my wrath, than you could your own shadow.

Good lead for Socke, but not a sure win yet, he also kinda threw away game 2.

Grubby got the hardest bracket I think any foreigner has ever got. Shame for him he didn't win any series but I imagine he learnt a lot from these losses.

hardest or not, he was playing no better than InC in previous seasons imo

4 Code S player and a Code B Korean in his best matchup, followed by Select in TvP.

I'm not saying Grubby played well but I think a lot of good player would get destroyed in this situation.

I thought SeleCT was american .

SeleCT ended the debate. If you watch his interview he said he is Korean because he just spent the last 3 months training in korea

Socke is playing this beautifully, all he needs to do is hold the medivac timing and macro it up and he's golden.

My point in that being is how does someone justify being a "progamer" in the US? Even most of the top NA players are canadian which has a more generous social program. You either have to be insanely talented enough that 3-4 hours a day of practice is enough to be good enough to profit or you have to have someone willing to fund your ability to practice 8-10 horus a day like koreans do. I'm in the US and I'm in university and work 2 jobs and I'm not saying if I could play 10 hours a day I'd be a top progamer but i'd certainly be a lot better.

I'm pretty sure South Korea doesn't have a very bright welfare system.

But they do have one advantage over the US which is proximity. The US is a much larger country than korea, and most of the SC scene is focused around Seoul. This means you're more likely to find 9 other people willing to live in a small cramped apartment who can all play SC for 8+ hours a day in a team house. Forming a team house in the US isn't impossible but I would argue it's harder. As to why brood war has become a successful "sport" in korea you'd have to answer that for me because I wasn't watching the BW scene at that time, I was busy being a dumb teenager. I would have to do more research but I would believe the level of play generally improved as people were able to spend more time playing.

Grubby

Though luck, but we all know that to win MLG you have to beat Koreans at some point. Hopefully this serves as a good experience

I meant no disrespect, but why is Grubby performing so poorly in SC2? I am comparing him to Naniwa both of whom switched from WC3 and both play Protosses. Naniwa have done impossible upsets and came close to taking out the most fearsome Koreans. Grubby just.....iono although he did take out Violet so that was good for him!

No doubt about it. Grubby needs to just shrug this weekend off. There isn't a foreigner in the tournament that would have done better in his position. 4 Code S players, Fnatic_Rain and then dseleCT who has top notch TvP.

just a brutal group.
