Please have some respect for the players, teams, and tournament.
Criticism is fine, criticism without anything to back it up isn't so cool.
Thanks!

he acted like a kid and demanded to get a game in the series because Puma was 2 minutes late, and then cheesed 2 games in a row.

I'm glad DRG swatted him away like a fly tbh. When Ostojy loses 0-5 and doesn't win a single game in his group I'll know there's order in the world.

LOL oh man does ostoboy not know that many players have set the precedent of actually waiting for late players? Whitera for example...they even forfeited the games themselves to negate the DQ! i guess there are classy players who can wait for 30 minutes but less classy players who cry about 2 minutes...

And then cheeses him both times

I'm surprised people actually complain about Puma getting cheesed....

yea im of this opinion as well.

It's not even that i dislike Puma, but I am aware that he loves his all ins, especially against Protoss. It'd be akin to raging because JulyZerg got bunker rushed.

and you heard it from what? some random guy?

From Alex Garfield, the executive director of EG

Yeah, so basically you heard it from a biased source. Wait till you get the full story before calling people out already.

doesn't matter. The fact he asked for the walkover, or hell even accepted it without contesting, is enough for me to dislike him and lose respect for the team.

Well congrats on being a fanboy then.

Oh right, director of EG. Dont you see that? We have EG's point of view of that situation but not one from Ostojy's side, so we are gonna just blindly believe that, right?

I do believe that Ostojy "whined" like a kid. But what I'm afraid of is reddit grabbing their pitchforks and ruining his SC2 career. :/

So you believe without proper sources that he whined like a kid? You're quite easy to jump on the bandwagon buddy.

Yeah, EG's Alex is a really creditable source and we should believe every word coming out of his mouth.

Yeah, who dares accept a w/o in a match that would put you in the fucking pool play with, you know, money on the line.

Hey look, another really self righteous post by Alex Garfield that people will defend to their death... -_- This time on Reddit, though.

Are there more than five people in the crowd today?

So I've been flicking on the fighting stream in the Sc2 downtime and one thing has struck me with that community, as someone completely ignornant of the scene.

How common is it for there top players to play different fighting games at the same tournament? I saw Justin wong playing another fighter yesterday and now hes playing mortal combat, doesn't that dilute the amount of practise they can have for any single game?

why would Alex lie? Dude has a lot to lose by lying in this situation. No one said anything other than that sucks for Puma being late until we found out what happened.

Im not saying he would lie, but obviously the same story from EG's side and Ostojy's side would be told completely different.

Don't be late then. If that is part of the rules (not even 1 minute late), then he has every right to claim it.

I would be more annoyed at MLG for not having some leeway being explicitly stated in the rules. However, being mad at Ostojiy for getting the free win is NOT the right person to direct any anger towards.

He forfeited first game because he was late and then he got all-ined twice and lost to the second one.

So what? Puma was in fact late, and the fact that he allined twice is completely irrelevant. Sure, it's a bit of a dick move, but not exactly something back-handed or whatever. If Puma and EG didnt want this to occur they should have been on time.

he could have been a good sport and not taken the walkover when it was optional and puma was 2 minutes late

Yes. He could have. But why? To ease the minds of some people on the forums? Come on now, he's a competitive player and he has no obligation to not accept a free-win when it is offered to him.

He enforced the win. Most people playing sports have something like sportmanship where you wait if your opponent is a couple minutes left. Everything else is extremely bad mannered in an offensive way. Did you never play any kind of sports?

Coming late for a scheduled match and then expecting your opponent to just roll over and not take the free win is whats bad mannered here. EG let their player get late for his match and payed the price for it.

its very easy to be late at MLG, and especially for a korean in the open bracket. honestly, ostojiy should have just played it out. 2 minutes late is nothing. games are usually played out in that situation.

Obviously people know ostojiy is in his right to demand the forfeit. That doesn't mean we would prefer to watch some NA zerg get stomped in his group over Puma potentially showing good games. We're spectators, why would we want Ostojiy v DRG instead of Puma v DRG. He can do what he wants but that doesn't mean we can't call it a lame move. If he's allowed to annoy us spectators then we have the right to be annoyed by him.
