Please have some respect for the players, teams, and tournament. Criticism is fine, criticism without anything to back it up isn't so cool. Thanks! |

he acted like a kid and demanded to get a game in the series because Puma was 2 minutes late, and then cheesed 2 games in a row. I'm glad DRG swatted him away like a fly tbh. When Ostojy loses 0-5 and doesn't win a single game in his group I'll know there's order in the world. and you heard it from what? some random guy? From Alex Garfield, the executive director of EG
Oh right, director of EG. Dont you see that? We have EG's point of view of that situation but not one from Ostojy's side, so we are gonna just blindly believe that, right?

Puma was in fact late, and the fact that he allined twice is completely irrelevant. Sure, it's a bit of a dick move, but not exactly something back-handed or whatever. If Puma and EG didnt want this to occur they should have been on time. he could have been a good sport and not taken the walkover when it was optional and puma was 2 minutes late Yes. He could have. But why? To ease the minds of some people on the forums? Come on now, he's a competitive player and he has no obligation to not accept a free-win when it is offered to him. He enforced the win. Most people playing sports have something like sportmanship where you wait if your opponent is a couple minutes left. Everything else is extremely bad mannered in an offensive way. Did you never play any kind of sports?

Seeing the lack of audience of the fighting games at MLG makes me sad they picked it up in the first place

Hopefully we don't see him anymore on the main stage.

Nonshock on 2012. Poor Sic08. Is MLG going to show Stephano vs. Inori on any of the streams? Personally, I want to watch that more than these group matches. not to mention next round vs Idra

Sure why not? It'll only be like the 3rd time those two have met in a finals in the last few months.
Correction 4th time, and if I'm not mistaken the record currently stands at 2-1 in favor of MarineKing

I didnt watch it Ostojiy kept pressing for a DQ because Puma was two minutes late, then all-inned the next two games. wow... dick move Someone posted it on TL, I'm going to believe him IMMEDIATELY! If a player is later than a certain amount, the admins can auto-disqualify them or offer their opponent a free win. This, "pressing for a DQ" is extrapolated by random people based on little to no information. Many players have auto-dropped games or been entirely disqualified for being late, this isn't the first time. Don't blame the guy who showed up on time, blame MLGs rules, the admins, or the person who showed up late. MLG would have allowed it to be played, they only force walk overs in extreme situations (like the white ra one). Ostojiy had the chance to play it out like a man, but took the free win instead cause he's scared.
|
A random scrub forfeiting against White-Ra in the losers bracket when you aren't even at the last stage yet is HUGELY different from getting a free win in a winners bracket final that lets you advance straight into pool play. Ostijoy absolutely made the correct (if dickish) decision to take the forfeit.
Puma wasn't 2 minutes late, he was 2 minutes later than the forfeit time (which I believe is 10 minutes). Ostijoy played the series exactly as cutthroat as he should as an SC2 player.

Why is that really a bad thing? If the rules state he should get a walkover, then he should get a walkover. It's just stupid to let the players have to "take the walkover". This should be competitive gaming, so you should want to win and going up against Puma...
I think a question you should rather be asking yourself, why do the rules give someone a walkover for only 2 minutes.
